Mayohan Festival 2014 also known as Mayohan sa Tayabas Festival is more than just a yearly festival, its a season to reunite with family and friends and converge at the town they perfectly call home.
Mayohan features various activities as a way of farmers’ thankfulness for abundant harvest during the season.
Mayohan Festival starts with the Parada ng Baliskog, the Tayabas arch of welcome. Sixty six barangays and various organizations of government and civil society exhibit their baliskog, all brightly decorated with Tayabas indigenous materials such as buli, rattan, dried flowers, kiping and tistis.
Mayohan Festival is a 10-day celebration, from May 6-15, Tayabanse’s from different parts of the country return home and gather at the town proper to join and enjoy the festivities.

Hagisan ng Suman sa Tayabas
Hagisan ng Suman
On May 15, Mayohan gives tribute to San Isidro Labrador with a procession. Aside from fruits and other pabitins, people who joins the parade clamor for suman . Hagisan is an opportunity to share their blessings. Procession Joiners are shouting “Hala Hagis” asking the families to share whatever they can share to everyone who joined the parade. As soon as the image of San Isidro Labrador passes by, pabitin must be emptied of its colorful array of abundance, which aside from suman, includes banana, mango, buko, pineapple, and other local fruits in season.

How to Get to Tayabas City
The City of Tayabas is approximately 11 kilometers north of Lucena City, and 143 kilometers southeast of Metro Manila by land travel.
Tayabas City is only 3-hour drive from Manila. From Buendia, Cubao and Pasay terminals, take the bus bound for Lucena City. From Lucena City Diversion Road or from Lucena Grand Central Terminal, take a jeepney ride to Tayabas City.
