About the Resort
The resort sits on a 40-hectare property which gives a peak of what true paradise is. The resort and farm is owned by the Tirador Family. It began its operation in 2010 making Janiuay, a must visit place in Iloilo.
The comforting ambiance of the farm resort mix with its friendly staff, delicious foods, and electrifying activities make Tierra Verde Farm Resort an amazing place to visit.
Both nature lovers and people who have a penchant for all things organic will rejoice at the sight of this place. Aside from being able to experience what living in the province is, the adventures awaiting every guest are some of the reasons why it’s a popular attraction in the area.
Lunch at the Resort
The experience I had when the resort hosted a wonderful lunch was in every way fantastic. It was a special feast of Fried Tilapia which they grow organically at the farm, KBL (Kadios, Baboy, and Langka) local vegetable dishes, and Chicken Inasal. Sweet treats bukayo and macapuno candies were also served for dessert.
Tour of Lolo Nikoy’s Aquaphonics and Organic Farm
The main attraction of the resort aside from its scenic views is their organic farm and aquaponics. Aquaphonics is done by combining the process of aquaculture and hydroponics where the hydroponics system feeds off from the water of the aquaponic system. This is the way they grew some if not all of their produce in the farm. They also supply vegetables to other resorts and restaurants. Visitors of the farm resort can take an educational tour of their organic farm to learn how the process of aquaphonics is done.
Norma’s Coffee + Shop
Some of the fruits they harvest from the farm are placed in Norma’s Coffee + Shop as well as pasalubong items that visitors can take home. They have some coffee beverages and desserts which change on a day to day basis.
There are cogon huts, bungee trampoline, hanging bridge and an adult and kid’s pool at the farm resort. There’s also too much greens and flowers which can soothe any tired guest.
The farm resort keeps their guests excited with many activities like canopy walking, ATV ride, Zipline, and Organic Farm Tour.
How to get there
- Fly a direct flight to Iloilo City from Manila.
- Ride the Calinog Bus Liner or Calinog Jeepney from Ungka Terminal and ask the driver to drop you off at Janiuay Town Center Plaza.
- Look for tricycles that go to Damires Hills.
- Take note that you won’t find tricycles going back to the plaza from Damires Hill so you need to strike a deal with the drivers to pick you up if you’re not staying overnight.
