Hotel Review: Lingganay Boracay Hotel and Resort

Winding steps leading to the Petty Beach

Lingganay Boracay Hotel and Resort Review

Boracay Island, Philippines – Perfect for private beach weddings and birthday parties, like the one we had in honor of my daughter, Lingganay Boracay Hotel and Resort appears to be an enchanting beach resort in the southeastern pocket of the island. It cascades along the hill of this remote area overlooking the sunrise, down to lush slopes that lead to a private white sandy beach and a secluded cave in the form of a bell, which in the local dialect is called lingganay.

Location

Lingganay Boracay Hotel and Resort is found in the expansive terrain of Sitio Tulubhan, where its coast meets the empowering sunrise in the morning and the easterly Amihan wind from October until May.

Being located in the same barangay as the Jetty Port, this resort offers just a few minutes’ distance to the island’s main access point to Mainland Caticlan, where the airport is situated.

Lingganay Boracay Hotel and Resort has its own white beach, saltwater swimming pool, and full-service restaurant. Yet through its own shuttle service, in-house guests are afforded easy transport anytime from 6am to 1030pm to the island’s famous long white beach, which is at the opposite side and commercial centers, like D’mall for dining and shopping.

Arrival Experience

Checking in at Lingganay Boracay Hotel and Resort makes for a pleasant reception. As it has been for us, we were warmly welcomed by its friendly staff and cordially guided us to accomplish the necessary check-in forms at the front desk, which is open 24 hours. The same staff also accompanied us to our room in one of its 14 villas, an uphill walk amid lush gardens and refreshing tropical air.

Rooms

Among this 85-room resort, ours was the Diamond Suite, a lavish room akin to a modern art gallery with classy but snug furniture and diverse art pieces, highlighted by the sunlight through the sliding door of its spacious balcony.

Befitting two people plus a young child, the Diamond Suite consists of a King Bed with two side tables and a living area perfect for lounging in view of a broad flat-screen Smart TV. It also has a mini-refrigerator, two wardrobe cabinets, and a working desk at the corner with several electric sockets to accommodate multiple devices simultaneously.

Though the room is strictly dedicated for double adult occupancy, it still seemed to fit another adult at the sight of a toilet room, apart from a massive bathroom that includes a double sink counter with a wide mirror, a toilet next to a bidet seat, an oval granite tub that can fit two people, and a spacious shower cubicle.

While the water runs hot and cold, amenities in our snug air-conditioned room include a water heating kettle, two bathrobes, big shampoo and body wash bottles to inspire eco-consciousness, two bamboo toothpaste kits, toilet papers, and assorted towels for two.

Taking note of such lavishness, my daughter and I felt regal and utterly pampered that it demanded great effort from us to step out of the resort and fulfill other appointments.

Food

Food provisions are complimentary at breakfast, whilst a selection of Filipino meals, be it Chicken Tocino or Beef Tapa with rice and egg, or American, either Bacon or Ham with egg and bread.

As for other meals, Lingganay’s al fresco Felsenkeller Pool Bar and Restaurant offers a comprehensive menu of delicious dishes at an affordable price. These dishes consist of Asian, Western, and Native Filipino dishes, such as Sizzling Sisig, Sweet and Sour Prawns, Schnitzel, Beef Goulash, Tenderloin Steak, Chicken Curry Filet, pasta, soups, salads, and more. On my daughter’s birthday feast, we got to savor their Pancit Bihon, Calamares, Lumpiang Shanghai, French Fries, and Chicken Fingers, and everybody loved it.

Resort Facilities

Guests staying in Lingganay could substantially enjoy their entire vacation within the resort premises along with the myriad of facilities on hand.

There is a fully-equipped gym in one of the villas where guests can get on cardio machines or lift weights without missing the wonderful panorama through its fitted glass sliding doors.

Aside from the previously mentioned transport service, which is available on-demand to and from the ground step of the villa, the resort also offers laundry service, massage services, food room service, plus an immense Medieval-inspired pool filled with saltwater.

Other unique features of the resort are the scenic roof decks on top of every villa that is accessible for in-house guests’ private meandering, quiet meditation, or stargazing. Meanwhile, to be on the top dome on a full moon, as the roof decks are locally called, creates the perfect setting to witness the full moon rising in the east and the sun setting in the west at the same time.

My favorite among Lingganay’s facilities is the Romantic Cliff, which sits at the tip of the resort’s cliff. The lush trail cultivates oneness among flourishing trees, flowering plants, and a flock of pigeons waiting to be entertained.

In the end, the burgeoning of space into the picturesque panorama of the eastern sea and sky, where embracing the sun rising from its depths on the cliff’s wooden bench makes for an experience totally exclusive in Lingganay.

Guests could also immerse in a unique beach experience at the resort’s Petty Beach, which is several winding steps away and could be a fantastic setting for an intimate beach wedding or a romantic location for a wedding engagement.

As all things must come to an end, the warm farewell that we have received from Lingganay’s staff, including the transport service that has been extended to us, ultimately reflected the wonderful experience and hospitality of our stay there, and by all means, has given us a reason to return to.
