Named as “Lakan” – a once title of nobility given to a warrior-ruler in the country – the extra premium lambanog is a symbolism of character and strength of this fine liquor which once embodied the strength and character of the Filipino.

According to Premium Craft Distillers, Inc., Lakan extra premium lambanog will be the first liquor of its kind in the market.

With the Philippine market mostly dominated by other forms of drink that appeal to the masses namely beers, rums, and gins, lambanog despite its centuries-old local production is a new addition to those beverages reaching nationwide consumers, even abroad.

In reference to Philippine Star’s article for the product, the fine liquor was described as “Spirity but sweet to the nose, with a jammy fruit and vanilla taste to the palate, Lakan has a long and smooth finish; subtle yet austere and complex.”

Perfecting the tried-and-tested means of traditional lambanog-making by the distillation of coconut nectar into liquor, Premium Craft Distillers, Inc. makes a more sophisticated craft bringing life to a fine drink that has a class of its own.

Lakan extra premium lambanog is a product of its own making’s distillation process of pure coconut nectar that ferments on its own without requiring additives with the process. As a result, it brings forth a natural work of art that is best taken neat.

Lakan extra premium lambanog is an FDA-registered product that guarantees safety as a drink. Quoting Anthony C. Manguiat, CEO of Philippine Craft Distillers Inc., he stated “We are excited to be launching a product that showcases that true Filipino spirits are world class. More than just an attempt to raise the quality of the Filipino liquor and elevate it to world-class standards, the production of Lakan extra premium lambanog is also meant to promote the entrepreneurial spirit of our fellow coconut growers by providing alternatives to their unprofitable copra production.

With only a hectare of coconut plantation, farmers who produce nectars from its source will be bought by Philippine Craft Distillers, Inc. which will be used for the production of Lakan extra premium lambanog which can earn such farmers as much as P300,000 yearly or almost P30,000 per month.
