The Memorandum of Agreement was signed by Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog, Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation, Inc. chair Ramon Cua Locsin and Fr. Achilles Secio of the local parish. The signing activity was held at Moon Café at Robinson’s Place in Iloilo.  Cua-Locsin said the celebration is a concrete example of a public-private partnership that can bring about numerous socio-economic benefits.

Dinagyang was inducted into the Hall of Fame of tourism events in the country, the first festival to earn the prestigious accolade, after it has been adjudged as the best tourism event by the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines (ATOP) for three consecutive years.

The chief city executive said he was happy for the city that 2011 Dinagyang Festival has been recognized as the country’s top tourism event. Source – PIA
