Upon arriving at the resort, I knew right away that we’re gonna have a luxurious treat. Lake Kenyir Resort and Spa is a luxurious and modern resort situated on a privately owned island on the banks of Lake Kenyir, Malaysia’s largest artificial lake.

Especially suitable for families with kids, this is a lakefront resort that provides access to the Taman Negara National Park, the oldest Malaysian rainforest with 340 surrounding islands, 12 waterfalls, and two caves, giving a home to a wide variety of exotic wildlife. Did I say it’s in the middle of the rainforest? Don’t worry, It is just 60km from the Kuala Terengganu Airport.

Other than being mesmerized by nature’s beauty as you are surrounded by caves (not too far from the resort) and trees there, you can also spend your time on the fairways and greens that have been designed to have the lowest impact on the environment and still keep it challenging for golfers of all standards. Other activities also include fishing, picnic, bird watching, tennis, and squash. Cycling, jungle trekking, Elephant interaction, and jungle walking are some simple activities that will come with a little bit more adventure.

Lake Kenyir Resort and Spa (resort rates) has 136 individual timber chalets with options of suites and executive suites that can accommodate up to 3 adults per chalet. The chalets’ designs are inspired by traditional Malay architecture and they are well positioned to offer a panoramic view of the lake. All chalets are equipped with amenities such as air conditioning, Wi-fi, TV, minibar, and telephone for your convenience. Bathroom facilities include a hairdryer. It should be noted that no alcohol is served at the resort due to religious rules.
As the resort is fairly isolated to provide a tranquil experience, it is pretty inconvenient to get to except by taxis. Situated in the heart of the rainforest, you will be swept off your feet by this breathtaking view.
