Fly to Caticlan with AirAsia’s newest flight route
In just a couple of weeks’ time, sand on our feet and sun kissed skin experience is here again.
Yes, summer is almost here!
Planning with your family and/or friends to go on a vacation on the beach this summer? Well, you might be very happy to know about what I am about to tell you.
On March 15, the low cost and very known for great flight service airline, AirAsia, has officially launched their inaugural flight to Caticlan in Malay, Aklan through flight Z2 221.
You heard that right. Caticlan, the nearest airport to Boracay, is now even within closer reach thanks to AirAsia.
AirAsia guests who want to go to Boracay now have the opportunity to ride with AirAsia through their daily two new direct flights that will be coming from Manila straight to Caticlan.
The company clearly stated that this development was done because the demand for flights to great destinations here in the Philippines has been increasing rapidly recently. Direct flights such as the Manila to Caticlan flight, gives travelers more leeway or more time during their trip because their travel time is now shorter.
The launching occurred in Ninoy Aquino’s International Airport Terminal 4, Manila.
During the event, there were instances that the sky would drizzle and the clouds would go dark, but I noticed that despite the changing weather, AirAsia managed to make their launch a success.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was headed by the staff of AirAsia. Flight Z2 221 was received with a salute of water cannons at the Caticlan aiport. And all the guests who attended the guests received free Sunnies sunglasses to already get that summer feel.
There were media networks, special guests, and regular AirAsia passengers who witnessed the short launching event of AirAsia. And all are excited for this new addition.
And not only is this new route the great news for the guests, but as announced by the Director for Flight Operations of AirAsia Philippines, Captain Gomer Monreal, they will be using bigger planes and/or jets to Caticlan which can entertain 180 passengers for the flights of Manila to Caticlan. They have done a lot of advances and changes for this new route. They have even improved their runway and as well as the addition of 9 parking bays.
But their budget carrier planes would be the one used for AirAsia’s flights to Kalibo, Aklan. This is because the weather in the area is more severe compared to other areas since it is along the sea.
And Monreal made yet another announcement during the event.
“Travelers will get to see more of our Airbus A320s’ iconic red planes at Caticlan in the coming weeks, as we will also begin to fly Cebu to Caticlan, and Davao to Caticlan on April 22,” – Captain Gomer Monreal.
