Just like Puerto Princesa in Palawan, Davao City has its own Crocodile Park. Located near the Riverfront, Davao Crocodile Park is just 20-30 minutes away from the city center. The park is an ideal place for group tours as well as educational tours. Travelers who enjoys wildlife will surely love this theme park.

The park is also a center known for conserving crocodiles and other animal species. In addition to crocodiles, this park also has other species such as monkeys, snakes, birds and various other types of reptiles. One of the unique things you can find inside the park is modern crocodile farming system. The park is also one among the few places in the Philippines where visitors can enjoy the flora and fauna of Davao City.

Davao Crocodile Park is run and managed by a group of businessmen under the leadership of Mr. Sonny Dizon. The park was opened to the public in August 18th, 2006. The park is the abode of Pangil, the second largest crocodile in the country. Pangil means “fangs” and this reptile measures about 18 feet long.

This park also offers special shows every day between 4pm to 4.30pm.  Davao Crocodile Park is mainly constructed with concrete pens and wire screen that is welded with the help of double security doors. Visitors can find walk pathways and benches for a comfortable tour through the park. Toilets and other basic amenities are also provided for visitors in the park.

The park has a food and souvenir shop too. It is located at the exit area of the park. Visitors can also buy crocodile leather products such as leather wallets and bags etc. The skeleton of Dugong is also a major attraction of this park.

Crocodile eggs are hatched within an incubation room that is present inside the park but is restricted to public. There are also two yearling pens. Feeding a full grown crocodile is also a rare view you will get inside the park. The park also has three breeding ponds. Visitors can have a safer view of the crocodiles standing from a bridge. There is also a special area in the park that is designed for the dog training.

How to get there

The Davao Crocodile Park is located near the Riverfront Hotel at the Riverfront, Corporate City Diversion Highway, Ma-a, Davao City. There is an entrance fee of Php100 for adults and Php50 for kids. Tourists and locals will need a vehicle to reach it.
