The answer is yes! In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Hong Kong Disneyland added a new and exciting line-up of spectacular events! At the park, you can enjoy a wonderful “Happily Ever After”-themed Christmas experience as Filipino cast members and Disney characters greet you along the way. But it’s more than just Disney characters, there are fun activities prepared for everyone who’d visit Disneyland Hong Kong!
Get treated to a live magical journey as “Mickey and the Wondrous Book,” a large-scale musical production, brings to life the best Disney tales ever! This new stage show will run for about 28 minutes at Disney’s Storybook Theater! That’s almost half an hour of story-telling-turned-live-show which starts with the book’s discovery by Mickey and Goofy in a library. 23 original costume designs, 63 pieces of instruments, 70 talents, and a diverse 200-man production crew will make this show’s performance truly outstanding and world-class!
Castle Projection Twilight Moment
Filipino Rony Fortich, HK Disneyland’s Musical Director who has been bringing magic to guests at Hong Kong Disneyland since 2005, gave hints of how the story will go. He said, “As Mickey Mouse travels from chapter to chapter, the music landscape changes too, from Bollywood to pop, Broadway style musical to hip hop and gospel to jazz. It’s quite an exciting journey,” He also revealed that Gian Magdangal and Raki Vega will be there to sing the theme song “Happily Ever After,” while Janella Salvador will be releasing this song in the Philippines with a music video. Wow!

But aside from a fascinating stage play, expect improvements in making the place a bit more magical. To make its “Disney in the Stars” fireworks more breathtaking, a light projection show will simultaneously take place. Also, watch Sleeping Beauty castle, the big stage to showcase 49 beloved Disney characters which includes new ones from “Finding Nemo,” “Big Hero Six,” “Inside Out,” and even “Finding Dory”, glow at night in an all-new moving light projection display! This will definitely bring you and your kids out into a world of dreams and fantasy.

Here’s another one you should watch out for! On December 17, Fairy Tale Forest in Fantasyland which took two years to create will be opened to the public. Expect to see miniature music box scenes of iconic fairytales from “Cinderella,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” among others. Tinker Bell will also be sprinkling you over with some pixie dust when you pass by Pixie Hollow! Cool!
Fireworks at Hong Kong Disneyland
What a great way it is to feel the Christmas spirit in a Disney world by watching Queen Elsa light up the “Frozen” Christmas tree and the star sitting on top of it? Yes, she and Anna will be in Hong Kong Disneyland too!
Mickey and the Wondrous Book Finale
Capture moments with your family at Main Street, USA and at a special location, the “Happily Ever After” Storybook in Fantasyland. Mickey, Minnie, Duffy, ShellieMay and all their friends will be there. Stormtroopers from “Star Wars” will invade the park on December 17. And come February next year, Baymax from “Big Hero 6” will be with you too! Aside from photos, you may also want to check out some of the special editions (Star Wars merchandise and many more!) of 220 new gift assortments and 60 anniversary and Holiday food and beverages being sold across the park and in its two family themed hotels.
