The Cathedral of the Good Shepherd

It is the oldest Catholic Church in Singapore, built-in 1847. It is also the Cathedral Church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese. The church is located in downtown Singapore, near the National Museum and National Library. Currently, some activities are suspended due to the pandemic, such as adoration, heritage tours, and social mission. Make sure to check their website for updated hours.

Church of St. Teresa

This church was built in 1929, also recognized as the first rural church of Singapore. The church has Romano-Byzantine architecture based on Father Jean Marie Ouillon’s sketches. The church was built, for there was a need for a church in Southwestern Singapore as the area had a growing population, mostly Hokkien-speaking. In 2009, it became a National Monument.

Church of the Holy Family

The Church of the Holy Family is known to be the first Roman Catholic Church to be built along the eastern coastline. It is also called the Katong Church by older generations. The church was completed in 1932, namely Eurasian and Peranakan attended this then-new parish. The church is currently the only Catholic Church to have Peranakan masses every Lunar New Year’s eve.

Church of the Holy Trinity

This fish-shaped church is known for its unique architectural design that represents Jesus. The Holy Trinity, the 30th Catholic Church in Singapore, was opened in October 1990 to cater to more than 8,000 Catholics living in the Pasir Ris, Simei, and Changi area. The church is home to weekday masses, children masses, and confessional.

Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary originated in 1853 which was then named St. Mary’s Chapel. When the present church was built in 1901 with Fr. Jean Casimir Saleilles as the parish priest, the church name became what it is now. The church is also home to The Immaculate Conception of Mary statue.
The church also holds private worship to book rooms for ministry sessions. The church also has pastoral services such as adult and infant baptism, anointing of the sick, confirmation, and holy communion.

Church of Saints Peter and Paul

This church, completed in 1870, is the seat of Singapore’s Chinese community. It is also the second oldest church in Singapore, run by the order of Discalced Carmelites. Every Thursday, they hold the Holy Infant Jesus of Prague Novena Devotion.

Church of Our Lady of Lourdes

Originally an Indian Roman Catholic church, the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes became a church for all ethnicities in 1974. It was declared a national monument on January 14, 2005. As of January 2022, the church is closed for restoration purposes. Masses will be held at the Tent of Lourdes.

Novena Church

The Novena Church’s history traced back to early Redemptorists in 1935. But it was in 1949 when the first devotions began. The following year, the building of the new church began, which then expanded due to the increasing number of devotees. By 2017, the redeveloped Novena Church was completed.
