Feliz Hotel Boracay Review

Boracay Island, Philippines – Whenever there’s a Full Moon, I always make it a point to commemorate it in a place that is as radiant as the moon and one that offers a perfect setting for its auspicious rise. Thus, I chose to stay at Feliz Hotel Boracay during one of those lunar dates.

Location

Like the moon, Feliz Hotel Boracay rises brilliantly above a realm of life, such as in Boracay’s open mall, D’mall in Station 2. Thus, guests could simply marvel at the ease of walking a short distance to cafes, restaurants, shops, wet and dry markets, not to mention the island’s famous White Beach.

Also within reach is the island’s main road, where public transport takes guests to other landmarks all over the island, such as Bulabog Beach, Diniwid Beach, Mount Luho, Puka Beach, the Jetty Port and others.

Arrival Experience

Given the same glorious reception, guests could simply yield to the hotel’s grand wooden entrance and the cinematic interior that awaits inside. It is akin to being in an old film set where you walk on classic tiles, lounge on traditional leather sofas, and gaze enamored by the sheer elegance of brass chandeliers, neo-traditional panels, floral centerpieces on sleek wooden tables, all maintained and augmented by a pool of people who are dedicated to render optimal service to their guests.

Granted with such elegance that we had walked into, my daughter and I felt anticipation for the indulgent staycation that was appointed to us in Feliz by its charming Front Office Supervisor, who not only offered us fresh lemonade but also led us to the room that was meant for us for two nights.

Rooms

We arrived on the third floor through the hotel’s lavish elevator, where our Family Suite room was waiting for us. In the same elegant motif as the ground floor reception, our suite room also exhibited a space to which we could simply surrender. It was laid out with a beautifully tiled hallway met with a plush bench to lay bags on and a tall wardrobe cabinet to keep valuables in.

Further into the room is a pair of cushy queen beds with matching illuminated side tables, plus a day lounge at the end, framed by a vast louver window.

Rather putting an irrefutable emphasis on utter relaxation and comfort into our suite room is the spacious bathroom, which is set apart with a wide glass window to orchestrate a delightful bath in its immaculate tub, as well as an opportune moment for self-care amid the double sink marble counter with an expansive mirror, toilet and bidet, and the glass shower cubicle with a refreshing rain shower head.

Food

A crowd drawer of Feliz Hotel is visible on the ground floor, overlooking an open square, aptly known as La Plaza. This full-service restaurant doles out a lavish buffet of complimentary breakfast treats for in-house guests in the morning. Such treats consist of fresh fruits, a fresh salad counter, fresh fruit juices, muesli and oats with add-ons of milk and yogurt, an egg counter, crispy bacon to match hot waffles, plus assorted pastries and bread.

Beyond 10am, La Plaza opens up to walk-in guests for Hispanic a la carte dishes, such as Paella de Mariscos, Chicken Peri-Peri, Tapa Salpicao with rice and fried egg, Paella Negra, Croquetas Espinaca, Pizza of various toppings, Beef Salpicao and Churros con Chocolate and Crema.

While more dishes are available on the menu, guests may also opt to enjoy them in the privacy of their room.

Resort Facilities

True to its namesake of “happy” in Spanish, Feliz definitely has what it takes to keep a person happy. With good vibes and service from its staff, clean and comfy accommodations, and good food in check, what remains to be fulfilled is a place to exercise the body, immerse in the revitalizing effects of water, and clear open space to absorb fresh air and sunlight.

Good thing that Feliz has a fully-equipped gym with cardio machines and weight lifting equipment on the ground floor and an infinity pool for adults and children on a widespread roof deck that is great for sunbathing, practicing yoga, or simply chilling with the fresh sea breeze.

On Full Moon nights, this roof deck creates the perfect location to watch the sunset on the side of White Beach and the moonrise toward Bulabog Beach, simultaneously displaying once-in-a-month galactic phenomena, depending on the observer’s state may be perceived as illusory or real.

Nevertheless, something as profound as this is sure to bring forth happiness, like it has upon me.

Departure

In the same way that we arrived came the same way that we departed: grateful, pampered, and honored to have experienced the meticulous and congenial hospitality of Feliz Hotel.
