A Taste for New Tastes

During the weekend culinary celebration, guests and regular patrons was able to sample the flavors and experience the unique artistry of dishes which was dubbed as the Culinary Gems: A Festival of Filipino Flavors Buffet.

These events was held on select weekends from September 6 and ended last November 23, 2014. The culinary feast was available for lunch buffet from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Saturday evenings.

  • Celebrity Chef Sau del Rosario on September 20 – 21 and 27 – 28, 2014
  • Former Malacanag Executive Chef Babes Austria on October 4 – 5 and 11 – 12, 2014
  • Taal Vista Hotel’s own Executive Chef, Edwin Santos on October 18 – 19 and 25 – 26, 2014
  • Asian Food Channel host Chef Bruce Lim on November 1 – 2 and 8 – 9, 2014
  • Chef couple Rolando and Jackie Laudico on November 15 – 16 and 22 – 23, 2014

Power of Two

Famous chef couple Rolando and Jackie Laudico combined their distinct styles and palates for a buffet spread of their own unique takes on classic Filipino dishes. This impressive smorgasbord featured multiple courses of appetizers, main dishes, and dessert pastries that transformed simple filipino recipes into unique culinary creations.

Some of the dishes prepared include appetizers like Tuna Kilawin with Maritangtang Calamansi Emulsion and Pickled Labanos, and Lumpiang Chorizo and Ubod Cones with Frozen Spicy Vinegar.

Main dishes like Spicy Crab Sotanghon with Taba ng Langka Sauce, Steamed Fish and Shrimp Mousse Wrapped in Mustasa Greens in Garlic Buro Sauce, and Slow Roasted Angus Beef Belly Kare-kare was also present at the buffet table.

For dessert, Suman Panacotta Rice Cake with Latik and Fresh Mangoes, Halo-halo Shooters with Carabao’s Milk Sorbet, Tsokolate Oh! with Peanut Butter Mousse, and the Maja Blanca Cheesecake are not to be missed.
