Check out the latest Asus VivoBook S15 S530 which is an improved and sleeker version of VivoBook S510 released last year. If you’re looking for a VivoBook that is lighter, compact, and slim, then this one is the right choice for you. We did a quick product review of the latest notebook, from its design and functionality. Is it worth the bucks? Read more below.

Design

It is arguably true that the ASUS VivoBook S15 S530 has better aesthetics and built compare to the previous model. It’s pretty solid and its keyboard is more comfortable to use, a spacious palm rest, and even has a decent backlit keyboard and trackpad as well. ASUS even implemented their ErgoLift design for more ergonomic typing position, although making it heavier than the S510.

As for the screen, it boasts 15.6 inch in size and a matte IPS screen – which depends on user’s likeness if they prefer a dimmer or washed out panel.

The brand has even released interesting color schemes for its interior which are Icicle Gold, Gun Metal, Silver Blue, Star Grey, and Firmament Green.

Features

Compare to other laptops we are adept in using, the ASUS VivoBook S15 S530 went with microSD option. Fortunately for right-hand users, this model made sure to put everything on the right side, from the power plug, HDMI and headphone jack to reduce all the clutter. Its speakers are on the bottom bezel and features a SonicMaster surround sound tech for clearer sounds.

When it comes to the processor, it has an Intel Core i5-8250U. But since it has a matte IPS screen and a maximum measured brightness of 220 nits, cons of this model would be users will find it hard to use this especially on outdoors. But wait for it, this model features an HD webcam and has a battery life which is three times longer than standard lithium-ion batteries.

How much does it cost?

The VivoBook S15 S530UN (official site) which comes with an i5-8250U processor is priced at PHP 51,995 via Lazada. Check some Asus stores near you and inquire today!

Overall, it has got unique features making it a perfect laptop for people with a dynamic lifestyle and always on-the-go. It’s worth every penny!

Here’s what we liked:

  • Chic laptop with a great color scheme
  • Wide nanoedge display for more enhanced screen quality
  • The Ergo Lift hinge
  • An optional fingerprint sensor built into the touchpad
  • Quality speakers

What we didn’t like:

  • Dim and somewhat washed out IPS panel
  • It’s got a dull screen display which is contrary to its color scheme

The Verdict:

It’s got a comfortable full-sized keyboard with great speakers, amazing design, and has long battery life perfect for working outside home and the office.
