AirAsia Travel Photographer 2016
Following AirAsia Philippines’ recent launch of its Shanghai web episode series, the leading budget carrier has called out for photo entries as it launches its search for the next AirAsia Travel Photographer 2016 Competition.
A few weeks ago they have received over 500 submissions by aspiring photographers from all over the world. 20 semi finalists were initially selected and they were later on trimmed down to 6 two nights ago in Casa Italia, BGC.
The finalists were thoroughly screened by a panel of judges who are notable in the field of the photography, branding and visual art. Nachi Ugarte, founder and creative director of Grid Magazine, Jacob Maentz, a freelance and documentary photographer, and Wawi Navarozza, a known artist and photographer, all gave their insights and advice to the participants during the selection process.
Along with the AirAsia team, the 6 finalists will be sent to one of AirAsia’s newest international destination – Shanghai – for the final leg of the competition. They will go through a series of challenges, which consist of landscape, portrait and food photography. From there, the judges who will also be flying with them to this metropolitan city, will then determine who bags the title of being the AirAsia Travel Photographer of the year! The winner will receive 200,000 AirAsia BIG Points, a surprise vacation package and goodies from the Grid magazine and Flight001.
Find out who the winner will be by following them on a series of web episodes featuring the final 6 on their photography adventure, to be shown on www.airasiatp.com.
