Airasia To Start Flights To Mauritius In October: Hello, Paradise!
For a price of RM299, you can soon book a flight to Mauritius from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
AirAsia X announced on May 25 that it will be offering flights to Mauritius starting on October 4 this year in a bid to further grow its route network.

The flights to Mauritius are already available for booking starting May 26, a day after the announcement, until June 5. All-in-fares are as low as RM299 for a one-way ticket, specifically for standard seats. However, for premium flatbed seats, consumers have to fork RM999 out of their pockets.
Even before, AirAsia X has eyed Mauritius as its next idyllic flight destination form Kuala Lumpur. Now, the company is the only airline that will offer nonstop flights between KL and Mauritius. The flights will be thrice a week.
The Airbus A330-300 with a seating capacity of 377 will be used to operate the brand new destination. The carrier includes 12 award-winning Premium Flatbeds. Mauritius is successfully the 22nd destination of AirAsia X Group’s route network.
“At AirAsia X, we aim to provide everyone with the opportunity to fly further at the most affordable rate,” said Benyamin Ismail, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia X Berhad in a press release. “We are very proud to be the only airline to offer nonstop direct flights on this route, and to add Mauritius into our growing list of nonstop travel options from Kuala Lumpur.”

Ismail went on to say that the company is anticipating that the recent announcement of the new route will certainly excite the market, particularly those who are living in Malaysia.
Ismail added that the new announcement of the company is just in time now that the vast network of AirAsia X has reached far across Asia and Australia through the FlyThru Service.
Aside from Mauritius, the company is now on the verge of opening flights to Hawaii. This will be possible as soon as the United States finally gives the company the necessary regulatory approvals. Still, the process is taking a little longer since the airline group has no prior experience in offering flights within the United States.
Despite this, AirAsia X is still confident to sustain its high profits until the year ends.
“The management is very confident and the aim is to maintain this positive momentum,” added Ismail.
According to AirAsia X, the flights to Mauritius will be on promotion and it is available online and on mobile sites at airasia.com and mobile.airasia.com. The AirAsia mobile app will also be available on Android and iOS devices.
