AirAsia Bags the World’s Top Low-Cost Carrier by World Travel Awards Six Times in a Row

Lisbon, Portugal — AirAsia has proven once again that they are the number one go-to Airline Company for travelers who are looking for inexpensive flight tickets. The budget airline was announced as the ‘World’s Top Low-cost Carrier’ World Travel Awards at the 2018 ceremony held at Pátio da Galé in Lisbon, Portugal. They’ve been receiving the award for six years.

For this year’s gala, AirAsia Group heads Suhaila Hassan and Audrey Progastama Petriny accepted the prestigious award in behalf of the whole airline family. The Airline Company was placed in the top for this category after travelers and executives of the industry voted for them. They came ahead of Southwest Airlines, Ryanair, JetBlue, Jetstar Airways, Norwegian Air and more. AirAsia also bagged the award for the ‘World’s Leading Low-cost Airline Cabin Crew’ twice in a row. They beat Ryanair, easyJet, Jetstar Airways, Southwest Airlines, etc. for this category.

AirAsia Group CEO Bo Lingam said that they strive to continue in giving their passengers top-notch service like their Fast Airport Clearance Experience System (FACES) which lets passengers experience quicker boarding. He also mentioned their Freedom Flyer Programme and Customer Happiness team whose main objective is to ensure that passengers are treated like royalty. He said that the airline company’s promos and services is a way to deliver the best to their customers.

Cabin Crew Suhaila Hassan also offered his sentiments at the awards ceremony. He started by saying that he’s been with AirAsia for 22 years and he has seen the company’s growth through the years. He shared how he feels about the growth of the company and how everyone in the company is keen on living through the passion they have for their passengers.

The World Travel Awards is a prestigious award-giving body in the travel industry. It was established in 1993 and gives various recognitions for the travel, tourism and hospitality industries.
