Go Hotels Dumaguete Review
Looking for an affordable hotel without sacrificing quality service and accommodation? Read on. The King of Sinulog is off for an overnight stay at Go Hotels Dumaguete. Located near Robinson’s Place Dumaguete, this essential service hotel ensures a complete and convenient travel experience by letting its guests pay for only the basic necessities, giving the guests the decision to avail add-ons that suit their individual needs. Here is an account of my experience at this value for money hotel and five more reasons why you should stay at Go Hotels Dumaguete (hotel info) whenever you are in the City of Gentle People.

1. The hotel has more than a hundred rooms

Go Hotels Dumaguete have a total of 102 rooms, 60 of which are twin beds and 42 are queen bed accommodations. The rooms vary in size ranging from 16 to 22 square meters about the space occupied by five sedans parked side by side.

Only a maximum of two people are allowed inside the room, or in some cases, a child is allowed to share the room. I stayed at room 221, accompanied through a stairway by one of the hotel staff and was guided through everything I needed to know including the hotel rules.

Certainly, smoking was not allowed and a penalty of PHP1,000 will be collected upon breaking this rule. It is understandable since the cigarette smell would surely linger. However, I was surprised that they do not allow eating inside the rooms, probably to avoid food stains or the smell of some interesting Filipino dishes like dried fish perhaps. Laughs. Good thing they have their own separate cafeteria downstairs.

2. The room is complete with the necessary amenities
The Windsor beds are made out of high quality cotton sheets with duvet covers complete with chiropractic and high quality non-allergenic pillows. The subtly checkered comforter looked really nice and was quite effective at keeping off the cold air coming from the strategically-positioned individually controlled air-conditioning units. In fact, I was really impressed with the groovy pillows which served as a good support for your lower back and neck especially when you lay around watching the 22-inch LCD cable TV all night before going to sleep after a full day of touring the city.

Although the bed was really inviting, I needed to take a shower first to freshen up after exposing myself to the streets. Checking the bathroom, my first impression was that it was quite small. However, its hot and cold overhead and handheld showers made up for it. Glad to know that two bath towels, foot towels, single use soap and shampoo with conditioner and tissue paper were already included with my accommodation.

Charging all my gadgets at the same time really makes me happy and it was possible because of the numerous 220V universal sockets inside my twin room. However, I can’t seem to update any of my social media accounts because of the poor WIFI signal in the room. I guess I need to go to the hotel lobby since the router is there. By the way, they also have in-room phones but can only be used to call other rooms only and also an in-room safe for your valuables.

3. It offers great deals for those who book in advance

Operating on the “book early, pay less” concept, their variably-priced room rates reward those who plan and book early same concept as that of Cebu Pacific, its sister company. If you’re lucky, you could get a room for as low as PHP388. Imagine that.

4. It is only a few steps from Robinson’s Place Dumaguete and has good access to the city center and bus terminal

The hotel is tucked away from the main highway, therefore less traffic noise which means better sleep quality. Because it is close to Robinson’s Place, there would be a lot of dining options for you and all other things a mall provides. However, I wished there was a 24-hour 7Eleven nearby as well. Because it is also in proximity to the Ceres Bus Terminal, it won’t be hard for you to go to your next destination. You may also ask the staff for a tricycle to pick you up at the hotel if you want to do some city sightseeing.
5. Commendable and thoughtful customer service

While I was using their WIFI at their hotel lobby, I overheard an American guest commend one of their staff of the travel tip he shared with him earlier that day which really came in useful and made his experience a whole lot better. I also asked some information regarding the bus schedules from their front desk with which she told me that she would get back to me as soon as she can. After a long day, she handed me a printed document covering everything I needed to know not only the bus schedules but also my other options as well. Good initiative!

Overall, we had a great experience at Go Hotels Dumaguete (reviews). Whenever you are in Dumaguete, please do book a stay. It surely is a value for money place for every Juan. Later!
