The vibrant town of Solano serves as the commercial center of Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines. Before the town got its name, it was first called Lungabang, which means “cave,” then Lumabang by the Spaniards. In 1851, the town was declared a barrio of Bayombong for having insufficient inhabitants and a lack of sustainable revenue to maintain itself, before it became a 1st-class municipality in 1860. The town of Solano was then named in honor of Governor General Ramon Solano y Landeral.
