Da Nang Accommodation Guide: Top Neighborhoods & Hotels
I have a soft spot for Da Nang. Every time I visit, I find myself enjoying the same things I loved the first time—the long stretch of My Khe Beach, excellent Vietnamese food, relaxed cafés, the Han River at night, and the fact that everything feels surprisingly easy to get around.
Where to Stay in Da Nang
One of the best things about Da Nang is that you can have very different experiences depending on where you stay. You can wake up to the sound of waves at a beachfront hotel, stay in the middle of the action near the Han River, or escape to a luxurious resort surrounded by nature.
The good news is that Da Nang is fairly compact, so you are never too far from the city’s main attractions. Still, choosing the right neighborhood can make your trip much more enjoyable.
Here is my guide to the best areas to stay in Da Nang, including what each neighborhood is like and the hotels I would consider.
1. My Khe Beach – Best for First-Time Visitors
If it is your first time in Da Nang, My Khe Beach would be my first choice.
This is the area I often recommend to friends because it gives you a little bit of everything. The beach is right there, restaurants are everywhere, cafés are easy to find, and getting to the city center takes only a short ride.
I particularly enjoy staying around My Khe because it’s so easy to start the day. Grab a coffee, walk to the beach, watch locals exercising along the shore, and take in the sea breeze before heading out to explore.
There is also a huge range of hotels. You don’t have to book an expensive beachfront resort. Some of the best-value hotels are just a few minutes’ walk from the sand.
Hotels to consider
Monarque Hotel is a good option if you want a comfortable hotel close to My Khe without paying luxury-resort prices.
Grand Tourane Hotel is another convenient choice, especially if you like staying close to the beach while still having full hotel facilities.
For a more contemporary stay, Radisson Hotel Danang offers an international hotel experience along the beachfront.
Best for: First-time visitors, couples, families, and beach lovers.
2. My An and An Thuong – Best for Cafés, Restaurants and Nightlife
Just south of My Khe is My An, with An Thuong being one of the liveliest pockets in the neighborhood.
This is one of my favorite areas in Da Nang because it feels lively without being overwhelming. Walk around, and you’ll find cafés, restaurants, bars, spas, convenience stores, and small hotels tucked along the streets.
The beach is also only a short walk away.
For me, this is the kind of neighborhood where you don’t need to plan every meal or activity. You can simply step outside your hotel and see what catches your attention.
It is also a great area for longer stays. Digital nomads and travelers spending several weeks in Da Nang will appreciate the abundance of cafés and affordable accommodation.
Hotels to consider
TMS Hotel Da Nang Beach is a stylish option close to the beach and surrounded by restaurants and cafés.
M Hotel Da Nang is worth considering if you prefer modern design and a more upscale atmosphere.
Best for: Solo travelers, digital nomads, café lovers, nightlife, and longer stays.
3. Han River and Hai Chau – Best for City Life
If the beach isn’t your main priority, consider staying around Hai Chau and the Han River.
This is the heart of Da Nang’s urban side. You are close to Han Market, Da Nang Cathedral, shopping areas, restaurants, and some of the city’s most recognizable landmarks.
I like this area when I want to experience Da Nang beyond its beaches. In the evening, walking along Bach Dang Street beside the Han River is particularly enjoyable. The city lights come on, restaurants get busy, and the river gives the city a completely different atmosphere.
You can still get to My Khe Beach easily by Grab, so you don’t have to choose between the city and the sea.
Hotels to consider
Novotel Danang Premier Han River is an excellent choice if you want an international hotel in a prime riverside location
Hilton Da Nang is another comfortable upscale option along Bach Dang Street.
For something a little more affordable, HAIAN Riverfront Hotel Da Nang puts you right in the middle of the city.
Best for: Food lovers, city explorers, business travelers, and short stays.
4. Around Dragon Bridge – Best for Sightseeing and Nightlife
Staying near Dragon Bridge is another option I like, especially if you want to be in a central location.
The location works well because the bridge connects the city center to the beachside of Da Nang. You can easily spend the day exploring Hai Chau, then cross the river for dinner near My Khe.
At night, the area becomes particularly lively. Restaurants, cafés, and bars stay busy, and there is plenty to see and do without traveling far.
If you’re visiting on a weekend, make time to see Dragon Bridge’s famous fire and water show. It is one of those simple Da Nang experiences worth having at least once.
Hotels to consider
Meliá Vinpearl Danang Riverfront is a good option if you like modern hotels and river views.
Crowne Plaza Danang City Center by IHG is another upscale choice for travelers who prefer staying close to the city’s attractions.
Best for: Sightseeing, nightlife, and travelers who want a central location.
5. Son Tra Peninsula – Best for Luxury and Seclusion
If your idea of a vacation is checking into a beautiful resort and not worrying about much else, look toward the Son Tra Peninsula.
This part of Da Nang feels completely different from the busy areas around My Khe. The peninsula is greener, quieter, and surrounded by dramatic coastal scenery.
This is where I would go for a special occasion or a luxury escape.
The famous InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort is one of the area’s standout properties. Its spectacular hillside location makes the resort feel almost like a destination in itself.
Of course, staying here comes with a trade-off. You are farther from Da Nang’s restaurants, markets, and nightlife, so you’ll need transportation to explore.
Personally, I don’t see that as a problem if the whole point of your trip is to slow down and enjoy the resort.
Hotels to consider
InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort is the obvious choice for an unforgettable luxury stay.
Son Tra Resort & Spa is another option if you prefer a quieter resort atmosphere without going quite as far into the luxury category.
Best for: Luxury travelers, honeymooners, couples, and anyone looking for privacy.
6. Non Nuoc and the Marble Mountains – Best for Resorts and Families
Further south, Non Nuoc is another excellent area to consider, particularly if you prefer large beachfront resorts.
This area is close to the Marble Mountains and is also conveniently located for those planning to visit Hoi An.
The atmosphere is much more relaxed than the city center. Many of the resorts have swimming pools, gardens, restaurants, and plenty of activities, making them particularly convenient for families.
I would choose Non Nuoc if I wanted to spend most of my vacation at the resort rather than going out every night.

Hyatt Regency Danang Resort and Spa is one of the area’s best-known resorts and works particularly well for families and couples.
Sheraton Grand Danang Beach Resort & Spa is another excellent choice if you are looking for a beachfront resort with extensive facilities.
Best for: Families, couples, resort holidays, and travelers combining Da Nang with Hoi An.
7. Da Nang City Center – Best for Budget Travelers
One of the things I love about Da Nang is that you don’t need a huge accommodation budget to have a comfortable stay.
The city center has plenty of affordable hotels, apartments, and smaller properties. And because Da Nang is relatively easy to navigate, staying away from the beach doesn’t mean you have to spend a fortune on transportation.
If you’re traveling on a budget, I’d rather save money on the hotel and use it for food, attractions, and experiences.
Hotels to consider
Doha Central Bliss Da Nang Hotel by Haviland is an affordable option for travelers staying in the Hai Chau area.
Danang Boutique Hotel is another option if you prefer a smaller, more intimate property.
Best for: Budget travelers, backpackers, and travelers who plan to spend most of their days exploring.
Where Should You Stay in Da Nang?
So, where would I stay?
For a first visit, My Khe Beach or My An would be my choice.
I love being close enough to the beach to walk there in the morning, but still having restaurants, cafés, spas, and local shops just outside the hotel. It gives you the best balance between a beach holiday and a city adventure.
If you’re celebrating a special occasion, I’d splurge on Son Tra.
If you’re traveling with children and want a proper resort holiday, Non Nuoc is a great option.
And if you’re more interested in food, markets, nightlife, and city sightseeing, staying around the Han River or Hai Chau makes a lot of sense.

Da Nang is one of those destinations where the right hotel can shape your entire trip.
If you want to wake up and walk barefoot on the beach, stay around My Khe. If you enjoy cafés, restaurants, and a bit of nightlife, I would look at An Thuong. For a more local city experience, choose Hai Chau or the Han River.
And if you’re ready to splurge, Son Tra is difficult to beat.
For me, however, the magic of Da Nang is being able to combine all of these experiences in one trip. Spend the morning at the beach, eat lunch in the city, visit a pagoda or the Marble Mountains in the afternoon, and finish the evening with seafood by the coast.
That easy mix of beach, food, culture, city life, and luxury is exactly why I keep coming back to Da Nang.
