Amelia Earhart Park
Amelia Earhart Park is one of the largest urban parks in Hialeah. The park was named in honor of Amelia Earhart, who took her last flight from Hialeah in 1937. Before the land for Amelia Earhart Park was secured, the area was used as training grounds and a munitions storage facility for the Naval Air Station Miami. The 515-acre park is home to several attractions and complexes, such as the Amelia Earhart Park Mountain Biking Trails, Bill Graham Farm Village, Tom Sawyer’s Play Island, a mini-soccer complex, Doggie Bark Park, and the Miami Watersports Complex.

Amelia Earhart Park Mountain Biking Trails
The 515-acre Amelia Earhart Park also includes eight miles of single-track and fire-road biking trails designed for beginner, intermediate and advanced riders. The biking trails include hidden climbs, downhills, and banked corners for that exhilarating activity riders crave.
Bill Graham Farm Village
The Bill Graham Farm Village replicates an actual working farm that provides the younger generation with the city’s agricultural past. The site includes a petting zoo of horses, cows, and sheep, a crop field, and an insect museum. The farm was named after Bill Graham, the son of a former state senator and one of the leading lobbyists to secure the land for Amelia Earhart Park.
Tom Sawyer’s Play Island
Tom Sawyer’s Play Island is located in Amelia Earhart Park. It is a fort-style treehouse designed for young children and equipped with swings, spinners, slides, climbers, and balance beams.
Miami Watersports Complex
The Miami Watersports Complex is a watersports cable park and boat operations set on the 90-acre lake of Amelia Earhart Park. The water sports complex has one of the largest cable wakeboard parks in the United States, including waterskiing, wakeskating, kneeboarding, wake surfing, paddle boarding, tubing, boating, and a 10,000-square-foot aquapark. While all skill levels are welcome, guests can book boat and cable lessons.

Hialeah Park Racing & Casino
Regarded as one of the top horse race tracks in the United States and recognized as “The World’s Most Beautiful Horse Race Course,” Hialeah Park Racing & Casino has been an iconic Floridan mainstay for almost a century.
The park features a grand casino with more than 850 slot machines, including an electronic Blackjack and Roulette, and an assortment of restaurant and bar options that looks over the race tracks. The park is also an Audubon Bird Sanctuary with a colony of flamingos that were first imported in 1934 from Cuba.

Leah Arts District
Leah Arts District was established to provide a place for hometown artists to gather, socialize and display their art. This allows the site to become Hialeah’s living and working space for artists. Stretching over an entire neighborhood, the area is filled with artsy shops, thrift stores, workshops, live performances, and dozens of murals.

Garden of the Arts
Garden of the Arts is one of Hialeah’s open-air museums established to create a safe space to promote hometown creativity. The park combines local art and plants native to Hialeah and South Florida, creating an art collection of murals and sculptures along the walking trail.
The park also features a romantic miniature amphitheater ideal for small occasions.

Milander Center for Arts and Entertainment
Art exhibits and cultural galleries are held monthly at the Milander Center for Arts and Entertainment.

Cuban Culture in Exile Heritage Park
Cuban Culture in Exile Heritage Park, locally known as Monument Park, is a passive public park dedicated to Cuban heritage. The Academia de las Luminarias de las Bellas Artes established the park.
Murals and dedication plaques are placed all over the park to honor the Cuban exiles who fled to the United States and found freedom there.
Milander Park
Milander Park, or Henry Milander Park, was named after the former Mayor of the City of Hialeah from 1941-1945 and 1947-1974. The park is home to Ted Hendricks Stadium, commonly used by local high schools for sporting events, and the Milander Center for Arts and Entertainment.
This elegant venue frequently hosts art exhibits. Milander Park has basketball courts, a general field, and a children’s play area open to the public for free.
Fishing Wizard
The State of Florida is known as one of the world’s top fishing destinations, and Fishing Wizard knows the right spots to catch the perfect target. The fishing excursions led by enthusiastic fishermen are popular among children.
The captain uses light and heavy tackle techniques to catch largemouths, peacocks, and tarpons. Fishing Wizard offers fishing types: river fishing, lake fishing, and inshore fishing.
La Carreta
Regarded as the first Cuban restaurant in Hialeah, La Carreta was founded in 1976 when several Cuban exiles moved to Miami.
The family-owned restaurant has served Abuela-style dishes and authentic Cuban espresso across Florida.

El Palacio de los Jugos

The open-air restaurant has become the legacy of its founder, Apolonia Bermudez, which her son continues to carry.

El Rinconcito De Santa Barbara
El Rinconcito Restaurant de Santa Barbara first opened in 1997. What started as a small cafeteria selling Cuban and Puerto Rican comfort food has expanded into a more prominent restaurant with delivery services.
Some of the restaurants favorite dishes are mofongo, arroz con gandules, alcapurria and masitas de puerco.

How to get there
Hialeah is accessible via car, train and plane. Private vehicles can take 826 Palmetto Highway to the center of Hialeah. Metrorail, the rapid transit system of Miami and Miami-Dade County, has three stations in Hialeah, Hialeah Station, Okeechobee Station, and Tri-Rail Station.
The nearest airport is the Miami International Airport, where visitors can take the Lejeune Road north. To get around Hialeah, the Hialeah Transit Bus System has two routes, the Flamingo and Marlin, which stops at several government centers, healthcare facilities, and shopping destinations.
