This year, R.O.X. wastes no precious time and begins the year strong as it gears up for the 3rd leg of the National Bouldering Competition. The much-anticipated event is slated to be held on March 22 for the eliminations and March 23 for the finals, at the Ampitheater, Bonifacio High Street.

More than just a competition, the series of events is set to make history as it seeks to promote climbing as a highly competitive sport in the country. In fact, the competition will critically determine the qualified climbers to be part of the Philippine National Climbing Team – Bouldering that will represent the country in various international events.

Last year, R.O.X. hosted the first leg in Cebu last May 25 to 26 with an event tagged as “Zero Gravity: Cebu National Boulder Competition” while the second leg was hosted by Habagat Outdoor Inc. last October 11 to 13 at Ayala Centrio and dubbed as “The Second Leg: National Bouldering Series.”

This time, R.O.X. is teaming up with the Sport Climbing Association of the Philippines, Inc. (SCAPI), a non-stock non-profit National Sport Association dedicated to the promotion, development, and awareness of sport and rock climbing in the country and to the selection of its national athletes. Serving as the official technical team for the event, SCAPI serves the role of ensuring that all contestants will meet international standards.

Poised to be one of the largest gathering of the country’s best climbers nationwide. The competition will be divided into two categories, Novice or beginner’s category and Open or elite category.

Indeed, the National Bouldering competition is bound to be an exciting and adrenaline-filled event that will surely further the progress of the climbing community and the country’s presence in the international field of climbing.

R.O.X. will always be at the forefront of promoting various outdoor sports such as climbing, in an effort to inspire individuals to live more holistic and active lifestyles. With its array of climbing brands such as Black Diamond, Blue Water Ropes, Evolv, and Mountatin Hardwear, not to mention, its flagship store in Bonifacio High Street has a 40-foot climbing wall operated by Power Up Climbing Gym.

This event is co-presented by Bonifacio Global City, SCAPI, Power Up Climbing Gyms, and Seafood Island. Made possible by 8a Performance Multisport, Go Pro, Mountain Hardwear, Proxstone Climbing Holds, Goody, Yurbuds, Habagat Outdoor Equipment, and Native Shoes.
