To welcome the Lunar New Year, diners are invited to enjoy a lavish yet healthy 13-course Blossom Set Dinner menu. The meal commences with appetizers especially created for Chinese New Year, including Sautéed Lily Bulb & Asparagus with Black Pepper; Chinese Yam with Sesame Dressing; Wild Mushroom Dumpling with Black Truffle Sauce. Pan-fried Bean Curd Stick Cake and Coral Algae & Mixed Fruit Salad round out the selection of appetizers.

A repertoire of 20 celebrated and inspired dishes collectively make up the Blossom Set Dinner main course offerings, of which guests may choose five.  Highlights include Stuffed Hairy Gourd which offers a clean and crisp way to begin the meal, whilst the auspicious Matsutake Mushroom Pouch with Black Truffle Sauce signifying wealth blends an Eastern delight with Western luxury. Sweet and Sour Konjac, Stir-fried Frozen Tofu with Chili and Spicy Stew King Oyster Mushroom are crowd pleasers, and Elm Mushroom & Lotus Root in Casserole is the perfect warming dish to share.

Braised Termite Mushroom, Steamed Monkey Head Mushroom, Sautéed Abalone Mushroom with Black Truffle Sauce, Sautéed Lily Bulb, Asparagus Lettuce, Ginko with Pine Nut, and Braised Assorted Mushrooms with Seasonal Vegetables showcase the delightful and varied textures of homegrown mushrooms from eco-farm. While Steamed Seaweed & Bean Curd Skin Roll in Black Bean Sauce showcases a unique way of cooking bean curd skin.

A Braised Noodle signifies longevity rounds out the savory portion of the Blossom Set Dinner.  A dessert of the day is then served to end the dinner on a sweet note. This special menu can be enjoyed from 5 to 7 February exclusively and is priced at HK$368 per person, including tea charge (minimum two persons).

In Chinese tradition, Poon Choi, also known as “Big Bowl Feast” or simply, “Chinese Casserole”, is a one-pot dish featuring a variety of ingredients and is shared amongst family and friends as a communal dish. Unique to Hong Kong, especially in rural areas, poon choi is a staple at family reunions over Chinese New Year. Pure Veggie House has interpreted as a delectable 18 Louhans Vegetarian Poon Choi featuring an impressive roster of premium mushrooms and vegetables, exclusively designed to be enjoyed at home. Highlights include elm mushroom, golden jelly mushroom, bamboo pith, king oyster mushroom, and shiitake mushroom; others vegetables include dried konjac, a vegetable high in dietary fiber, hand-made crispy roll, seasonal taro, lotus root amongst more.

Priced at HK$988, Pure Veggie House’s Poon Choi are available for takeaway only.  Serves 5-8 persons, guests are requested to pre-order 2 days in advance.

In line with Chinese New Year traditions, Pure Veggie House presents its members and non-members the opportunity to pre-order the Chinese New Year’s puddings to share with family and business associates.  The selection includes Red Dates Pudding (HK$158), Taro Pudding (HK$158), New Year Pudding (HK$148) made with coconut jelly and sugar cane, and the classic Turnip Pudding (HK$148).  Non-members may enjoy a pre-order discount of HK$10 for all puddings, while members may enjoy a HK$20 discount, if orders are made before 18 January.  All Chinese New Year puddings are available for pick up from 29 January to 3 February 2019.

Apart from specially curated menus designed to celebrate New Year, Pure Veggie House is celebrating its first overseas location in the foodie hub of Taiwan.  Opened on 12 January 2019, it is located on the 2nd floor of the newly opened Breeze Nanshan in the heart of Taipei’s bustling Xinyi district, showcasing its signature range of vegetarian dining, in a Western surrounding in contrast to its sister restaurant in Hong Kong.

Seating 85 diners, Pure Veggie House Taiwan boasts a British-Victorian style and highlighting the uniqueness of Hong Kong’s colony features with private rooms painted in white and gold reminiscent of French Baroque. This 3,200 square foot outlet melds Eastern dining in a classically European setting; featuring sloping roofs, bay windows and arches, and a British parquet floor. These European touches are subtly balanced by glasses with lotus pattern and a lotus-shaped couch, which brings a touch of the Orient into the space.

Pure Veggie House opens from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. during the Lunar New Year (5 – 7 February 2019).

On 5 February 2019, only the Blossom Set Menu will be served; and a 20% surcharge will be added the menu price during the three days of operation.
