For only Php 250 you can enjoy an eat-all-you-can-eat buttermilk pancake, knowing that 80% of that amount will go directly to the Kythe Foundation in support of their mission to help children batting with pediatric cancer in the Philippines. In a recent media roundtable in IHOP BGC, Kythe Foundation President, Atty. Arnel Banas, shares that their objective is to make kids with cancer and chronic illnesses enjoy going to the hospitals for that is the only way for them to get their treatments. Truly a fun experience will make some procedures less scary for the kids.

This year marks the 2nd ever National Pancake Day in the country under the leadership of Archie Rodriguez, CEO of Global Restaurant Concepts Inc. He quips “IHOP’s motto is ‘spreading happiness’ and what better way than to support something that does the same for children.” He further adds that Kythe Foundation’s mission and vision resonate well with him and his team, making it a fairly positive decision for him to make. The said event was also graced by two of the foundation’s cancer survivors, who are both now enrolled in respective colleges.

National Pancake Day began in the United States in 1995 and has, since, raised $20 million dollars for children’s health charities in the local communities. For the first time last year, IHOP Philippines took part in this cause and was able to raise Php 400,000 for the Kythe Foundation.

This year, they are hoping to reach the Php 600,000 mark. With your help, this will, without a doubt take place. And who knows? Perhaps, this year can even exceed that. Well, if it is for making a positive impact in the lives of children throughout the country over a stack of yummy pancakes then why not? Check out their website here -> www.ihoppancakeday.com.
