The complete list of Philippine Holidays and Long Weekends for 2019

Manila, Philippines – Malacañang released the list of Philippine regular and special non-working holidays for 2019.

Some of the public holidays listed here can be moved to another date and it will all depend on Malacañang declaration. Under the provisions of Republic Act 9492, the Philippine President can issue a Proclamation to declare or move a particular holiday prior to their occurrence to finalize the specific date of the holiday observance.

Heres the list of regular holidays for 2019:

  • January 1, 2019, Tuesday – New Year’s Day
  • April 9, 2019, Tuesday – Araw ng Kagitingan
  • April 18, 2019 – Maundy Thursday
  • April 19, 2019 – Good Friday
  • May 1, 2019, Wednesday – Labor Day
  • June 12, 2019, Wednesday – Independence Day
  • August 26, 2019, last Monday of August – National Heroes’ Day
  • November 30, 2019, Saturday – Bonifacio Day
  • December 25, 2019, Wednesday – Christmas Day
  • December 30, 2019, Monday – Rizal Day

Compensation for National Regular Holidays

a. If it is an employee’s regular workday
  • If unworked, an employee shall be paid 100% of his/her daily rate – (Daily Rate x 100%)
  • If worked, an employee shall be paid 200% of his/her daily rate for the 8 hours – (Daily Rate x 200%)
  • Excess of 8 hours – plus 30% of hourly rate on said day
b. If it is an employee rest day
  • If unworked – 100%
  • If worked – 1st 8 hours – plus 30% of 200%
  • Excess of 8 hours – plus 30% of hourly rate on said day

  • February 5, 2019, Tuesday – Chinese New Year
  • February 25, 2019, Monday – EDSA Revolution Anniversary
  • April 20, 2019 – Black Saturday
  • August 21, 2019, Wednesday – Ninoy Aquino Day
  • November 1, 2019, Friday – All Saints’ Day
  • December 8, 2019, Sunday – Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary
  • December 31, 2019, Tuesday – last day of the year

Heres the list of Additional special non-working holidays:

  • November 2, 2019, Saturday

Proclamations to declare National Holidays for Eid’l Fitr and Eid’l Adha follow after approximate dates of the Islamic holidays so they are yet to be determined.
