Henann Resort Alona Beach: A Legacy of Luxury
In 1998, Dr. Henry Chusuey created a benchmark in hotel industry. He dreamt of a place where his family and friends can go, relax, and forget about the chaos of the city. Such is the humble birth of the Henann Group of Resorts in Boracay. But his dreams did not end on the banks of one of the world’s famous islands. And so seventeen years after, he found himself building another resort along the pristine waters of Bohol, the Henann Resort Alona Beach (hotel info).

True to the standards of what made his resorts world-class, The Hennan Resort Alona Beach (hotel rates) is the largest resort in Panglao Island, covering the widest beachfront property at one and a half kilometers. With 6.5 hectares of what can be considered a play-ground, the tourism tycoon’s only limit is his imagination.

What is marketed as three swimming pools in the property can be considered an understatement. Artfully orchestrated, the waterways seem infinite. The resort’s swimming pools cannot, at any point in time, be overcrowded. It is just mathematically, ratio-wise, impossible. And with the resort’s white-sand beach that is dotted with a canopy of trees, one can easily be overwhelmed with option paralysis. The sunken bars in each pool may have helped ease the decision-making process of choosing in which body of water I should prune myself first. In retrospect, it was an option paralysis I savored during our three-day stay.

At the moment, Henann Resort Alona Beach has opened 230 rooms out of the 400 projected to be available by the last quarter of 2015. Aside from the coastal-inspired deluxe and premier rooms (which some have direct access to the swimming pool), suites and presidential and beach front villas are also offered. Our premier room boasts its own terrace, bath tub, cable TV, coffee and tea making facilities, and fridge. It is almost enough to make anyone cocoon in it for their entire stay.

Other amenities include Coral Café that serves buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner, a fitness center, a VIP lounge, a mini store, an open-air venue for events (beach wedding, anyone?), and a convention center that shames most of the business centers found in Manila. By the year ends, the resort will have opened the Kai Spa, the Sea Breeze Café, and the fine-dining restaurant, Christina’s.

Henann Resort Alona Beach (discounted rates) is what dreams are made of. For Dr. Chusuey, it serves as a milestone in his company’s 17-year history. What started out as a small project in Boracay has now expanded to Bohol. Soon, the Henann brand of service will expand to the four corners of the Philippines. One might say that to build a legacy of luxury, clients come first. This is evident in each, even tiny detail of the resort. One can also consider the group’s intent in bringing work to each province its name is stamped on. Not only does it serve its customers, it also gives back to the community.
Henann Resort Alona Beach is currently on soft opening and will formally open this August 2015.
Airasia flies from Manila to Bohol via Tagbilaran City. From Tagbilaran airport, Henann Resort Alona Beach is merely a 30-minute ride.
