As of this writing, these new Mirrorless cameras from Fujifilm are not yet for sale in any authorized distributors in Manila. However, we were lucky to test it earlier at the press launch of the said mirrorless cameras.
FUJIFILM, one of the most popular camera brands in the world, has just unveiled its latest line of powerful and topnotch mirrorless cameras in Manila on January 21 at Discovery Suites in Ortigas, just days after their home base launch led by their President, Shigehiro Nakajima. We’re talking about the FUJIFILM X-Pro2 camera with interchangeable lens and FUJIFILM X70 with more firmness.
The FUJIFILM X-Pro2 is a flagship model that is packed with the best of FUJIFILM technology. With three years of staying in secrecy, the X-Pro2 is set to alter how Filipinos Fujifilm X users perceive the more lightweight, powerful, and visually superior choice to DSLRs. And it could change the competition.
Professional photographers will definitely love this as it has the world’s only Hybrid Multi Viewfinder which utilizes the Electronic viewfinders (EVF) used by mirrorless cameras and optical viewfinders preferred by reportage, documentary, and street photographers for a more natural look. The X-Pro2 integrates them both, giving it the Multi-Magnification ability that enables it to automatically switch to viewfinder magnification based on the lens used. Also, it allows for a simultaneous display of the electronic viewfinder atop the optical one.
Its 24.3MP X-Trans CMOS III sensor and high-performance X Processor Pro image processing engine can yield great images with a perceived resolution far greater than the actual number of pixels used. Its dual SD card slots give more potential memory space for your images. Other notable characteristics include its magnesium alloy composition, 61-point tight seal, 4x processing speed (compared to conventional image processors) low-temp operability (at 10 °C), and dust-proof and splash-proof capabilities. A faster processor allows for improved write speeds, faster start-up time, and high speed continuous shooting speeds (sports and action photographers).

Fujifilm will put the X-Pro2 body on sale for P90,990 starting on January 28 to Feb 2, 2016 at PhotoWorld Manila. If you preorder, you can also get Free Leather Case (save P5,290) and avail of their Fujinon 35mm F2 for only P10,990 (save P10,000). These new mirrorless camera products will also be available in Cebu during its Visayas Launch on February 6, 2016.
FUJIFILM’s other latest offering, the X70, is the best option in a compact design. The first of its kind in a new line, the X70 is the first X-Series model to have a fully 180-degree rotatable touchscreen display which would allow users to take shots from many angles. Selfies are great using the X70 too! The X70 also comes with a Fujinon 18.5mm F2.8 lens, perfect for sunset, landscape, seascape, and even group shots.
With a weight of about 340 grams, the X70 is said to be the lightest X-Series camera with an APS-C sized sensor. It has well-made aluminum exposure compensation and shutter speed dials; hence, it’s so easy to quickly access key features. What’s more? Apertures can be changed in increments of 1/3 or 1 stop. The focusing ring also works as a control ring for quick access to other functions. Both rings are composed of the same material to keep down its weight.
This handy camera is able to create high quality images due to its unmatched color reproduction technology and its Lens Modulation Optimizer (LMO) image processing technology, both of which are products of FUJIFILM’s 80 solid years of experience and expertise. The X70 can automatically correct optical defects like diffraction for enhanced sharpness and realistic 3D effects. Its on-sensor phase detection AF works super-fast at 0.1 seconds. Its advanced EXR Processor II image processor enables the X70 to start up in just 0.5 seconds. And who wouldn’t love an almost-negligible 0.01 sec shutter time lag with a shooting interval of 0.5 seconds? All these features are what make the FUJIFILM X70 commendable — in its speed, power, and compactness.
