Without any fixed itinerary, I joined my travel buddies Monette, Gay and Marky in an impromptu weekend trip in the highlands. It was a last minute invitation and I was really not prepared.
Foggy Morning at the Garden
Our adventure started after meeting Marky, Monette and Gay at the Bus Terminal in Cubao.
More than just a house on the hill
After two Bus stops, six hours in a freezer bus, breakfast at Star Cafe and one scary taxi ride, we finally headed to our vacation house called Cinema Leonardo.
Taking advantage of the Baguio City Market, we visited the public market to buy food, booze and something to cook for our entire stay. We brought it all back to the house and made delicious Sinigang lunch in their wonderful fully equipped kitchen – it really does have everything you need for cooking to feasting.
Gay’s Sisa Moments
As we sat in the backyard garden while smoking in the cool Baguio mountain air at Cinema Leonardo, I told myself “Will do this again”. In fact we even thought of holding Pinoy Travel Bloggers Party and turn the place into a really busy house with people you love and lots of food.
Sinigang at Tuyo
There is a sizable movie theater upstairs, and though we were not able to watch even a movie, we lounged in a sea of pillows and stayed in front of the big screen just to chat and enjoy the cool weather. The place is really nice for friends of the family who wants to have a get together in a more private place.
We spent our entire vacation in this area
The vacation house has a large driveway that can easily fit four vehicles. The house has a beautiful garden, spacious rooms, some kitchen supplies, canned goods for sale and a caretaker who are always there to provide assistance. I cant recommend any other vacation place in Baguio other than Cinema Leonardo… It has everything you need in a vacation house.
Whats on your Bucket List
During our stay, we enjoyed a long evening of laughs and anecdotes (translation = chismis) while drinking, eating and internet browsing. I just love my SMART pocket Wifi:) We had a fantastic time, sitting at the beautifully carved dinner table eating a feast of lunch leftovers and pancit I’d made earlier that afternoon.
Pinoy Travel Bloggers Weekend at Cinema Leonardo
I’m definitely going to use the Cinema Leonardo vacation house in Baguio again, it’s far away from the noise, but if you want to party, you can go down to Session road easily. Cinema Leonardo is the perfect balance where you can hang out and enjoy each other’s company or go enjoy all the Baguio has to offer.
