Philippines’ Leading Carrier Opens New Possibilities with Their Cadet Pilot Program
Manila, Philippines — The application for batch 6 of Cebu Pacific Cadet Pilot Program is open starting today, February 15 and ends on the 24th. The airline company is set to recruit 16 participants of their “study now, pay later” program. This educational program offers zero-interest to the participants. The company will also give them employment after they finish their studies.

College graduates who are also Filipino citizens can join this program but they have to have a good command of the English language. Although the airline doesn’t prefer any specific course, they are looking for degree holders with at least 70% average grade in subjects like Math, English, and Physics.
The students will undergo 52 weeks of integrated flight training and theory. They will get their education at the Flight Training Adelaide (FTA), Australia. The training will include learning modules and training inside a flight simulator and an actual plane. If successful, they get their Diplomas of Aviation for Commercial Pilot License-Aeroplane, Pilot in Command, and Instrument Rating. To add, they will train for four weeks at the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines to get their Pilot’s License.
All the costs will be shouldered first by Cebu Pacific. The cadets can pay this once they’re already working for the airline company. Payment for this program will take 10 years and features zero interest.

The first step for applicants is the online pre-screening process. The onsite screening will follow which includes core skills and pilot aptitude tests. These tests and other examination will cost AUD425 or about PHp19,000. After FTA screens and shortlists the candidates, they, together with Cebu Pacific will pick the final Cadet Pilots.
There are already 58 cadet pilots in training and the fifth batch is in their final briefings and pre-departure training. They will travel to FTA by April 2019. The 5 batches produced 30,000 applicants who went through testing, screening, and the interview process.
