Latest Travel Requirements and Regulations to Enter Bali, Indonesia

Good News! Bali is now open for tourists! Before departing to Bali, you need to prepare yourself with the information about the Visa and requirements to enter Bali, Indonesia.

Just like most domestic and international destinations, the government of Indonesia requires guests bound for Bali to present printed copies of the following travel documents upon check-in:

For Indonesian Nationals:

  • Negative RT-PCR test result, valid for 48 hours before the scheduled time of departure.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate. Note that unvaccinated or partially vaccinated Indonesians will not be accepted for the flight. The Vaccination Certificate must reflect two (2) doses of Pfizer, Moderna, Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, Johnson, and Johnson and must be written in English. Proof of vaccination must be integrated/authorized via this website. The flight date must be at least 14 days from the last dose.
  • Download and register for the PeduliLindungi App. Please update your contact information, COVID-19 status, and vaccination status.
  • E-Customs Declaration Form must be accomplished. Passengers can scan the bar code upon arrival and accomplish prior entry to DPS Customs Area.

For Filipinos and other Foreign Nationals:

  • Negative RT-PCR test result is valid for 48 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate. Note that unvaccinated or partially vaccinated foreigners will not be accepted for the flight. The Vaccination Certificate must reflect two (2) doses of Pfizer, Moderna, Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, Johnson, and Johnson and must be written in English. Proof of vaccination must be integrated/authorized via this website. The flight date must be at least 14 days from the last dose.
  • Health Insurance Policy with a minimum coverage of USD 25,000 for COVID-19 treatment and/or hospitalization. Guests may avail of Indonesia Travel COVID Insurance here.
  • Allowed visa
  • Passport valid for at least six (6) months
  • Proof of booking confirmation and payment for accommodation while in Indonesia
  • Download and register for the PeduliLindungi App. Please update your contact information, COVID-19 status, and vaccination status.
  • E-Customs Declaration Form must be accomplished. Passengers can scan the bar code upon arrival and accomplish prior entry to DPS Customs Area.

Types of Visas / Stay Permits allowed to enter Indonesia:

  • Diplomatic and Official Visa Holders
  • Diplomatic and Official Stay Permit
  • Holders of Indonesian Temporary Residence Card (KITAS) and Indonesian Permanent Residence Card (KITAP)
  • Visitor Visas – B211A, B211B, Limited Stay Visa, C312 (Work Visa), C31232, C314, C315, C317
  • Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Business Travel Card (KPP APEC)
  • Traditional border crossers can also enter the Indonesian territory. Note that Visa On Arrival (VOA) is granted to passport holders from select countries, which includes the Philippines.

RT-PCR upon arrival is only required for guests with a temperature of at least 37.5 degrees Celsius.

Entering with Visa on Arrival and Visa Exemption Facility

According to the Circular Letter of the Directorate General of Immigration No. IMI-0549.GR.01.01 of 2022 concerning the Ease of Immigration to Support Sustainable Tourism during the COVID-19 Pandemic effective from 6 April 2022, below are the list of countries and special entities for Visa On Arrival ( VOA ), in alphabetical order:

Below is the list of countries and special entities for the Visa Exemption Arrangement Facility in alphabetical order:

  1. Brunei Darussalam,

  8. Thailand, and
  9. Vietnam.

Please note that VOA and Visa Exemption Facility are only available at Ngurah Rai International Airport. More details about the rules and regulations for VOA and Visa Exemption Facility can be read on this link and can be summarized as follows according to the circular note from The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia No. SE/00035/PK/04/2022/64:

1. Visit Visa Exemption or Visa on Arrival for Leisure Purpose can be issued accordingly with the following requirements:

  1. Passport (diplomatic/official/ordinary) that is valid for a minimum of 6 (six) months,
  2. A return ticket or a pass to continue the trip to another country,
  3. Proof of payment of PNBP Visa on Arrival of 500,000 IDR (in the case of applying for a
    Visa on Arrival for Leisure Purpose), and
  4. Proof of ownership of health insurance which includes financing for handling COVID-19 and medical evacuation to a referral hospital.

2. The entry stamp on the granting of a Visit Visa Exemption or Visa on Arrival for Leisure Purpose will be valid as a Visit Stay Permit with a certain period, as follows:

  1. Visit Visa Exemption: maximum 30 days and cannot be extended.
  2. Visa on Arrival: maximum of 30 days and can be extended once for another 30 days at the Immigration Office in the area where the foreign national lives.

3. Visit Visa Exemption or Visa on Arrival for Leisure Purpose can also be granted for foreign nationals on an official visit or government duties to attend international events, for which shall be applied additional requirement: to enclose an invitation letter issued by the Indonesian government to attend the international conferences/trials/meetings.

4. The provision of Visit Visa Exemption or Visa on Arrival for Leisure Purpose as stipulated above applies to holders of diplomatic passports, service passports, or ordinary/general passports.
