MOVE Becomes IATA-Accredited Agent in the Philippines, Expanding Flight Choices for Travelers

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Travelers flying to and from the Philippines can now look forward to even more choices as AirAsia MOVE (MOVE) strengthens its position in the local travel market.

Asia’s travel booking app has officially received accreditation from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in the Philippines, a milestone that expands its ability to work with more airline partners and offer travelers greater access to flights and destinations around the world.

The accreditation marks another step in MOVE’s evolution into a more comprehensive travel platform, bringing together flights, accommodations, attractions, events, and other travel services in one app.

Today, MOVE gives travelers access to more than 700 airlines flying to over 3,000 destinations worldwide. Its growing portfolio includes direct partnerships with international carriers such as Etihad Airways, ANA, and VietJet. Beyond air travel, the platform also offers more than one million hotels, as well as access to live events, attractions, and other travel experiences.

For Filipino travelers, the expansion means more opportunities to compare and book flights through a single platform. For international visitors, it also supports easier access to the Philippines and greater connectivity to destinations across the country and beyond.

The growing presence of online travel agencies such as MOVE is also creating new opportunities for airlines, tourism businesses, and industry partners to reach travelers through technology, wider distribution, and a more seamless digital booking experience.

“Our IATA accreditation is already opening new doors for MOVE. Within the first few weeks, around 30 international airlines serving routes to and from the Philippines have granted us ticketing authority,” said Malou Japson, Country Head for MOVE Philippines.

Japson said the company sees travel as a connected ecosystem where stronger collaboration among airlines, tourism organizations, travel businesses, and technology platforms can help create better opportunities for travelers and destinations alike.

MOVE is also looking to play a bigger role in connecting Filipino travelers with destinations around the world while helping make the Philippines more accessible and appealing to international visitors.

The IATA accreditation builds on the company’s growing involvement in the local tourism industry. Earlier this year, MOVE became a member of the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) and the Philippine Tour Operators Association (PHILTOA), strengthening its connections with the country’s travel community.

The platform has also been expanding its collaboration with the Department of Tourism through the “Discover More to Love” campaign, which aims to encourage more Filipinos to explore destinations across the country.

As MOVE continues to grow its airline partnerships and expand its range of travel products and services, the company is positioning itself as a one-stop platform for travelers planning journeys within the Philippines, across ASEAN, and to destinations worldwide.
