Then a young boxer without any professional titles yet, Pacquiao fought against Thai boxer Chatchai Sasakul. He knocked out Sasakul in the 9th round and snatched his WBC flyweight title.
2. Fight vs. Oscar de la Hoya (December 2008)
Analysts were afraid de la Hoya was too heavy for Pacquiao. But Manny he was the bigger fighter in the ring and demolished the Golden Boy in the 8th round.
3. Fight vs. Ricky Hatton (May 2009)
In probably one of the most spectacularly fast fights in boxing history, Pacquiao knocked down Hatton twice in the first round and eventually knocked him out cold by the second round.
4. Fight vs. Antonio Margarito (November 2010)
Mexican-American boxer Antonio Margarito was 17 pounds heavier than Pacquiao during their fight. But Pacquiao’s speed and powerful combinations proved that weight was no issue at all.
5. Fight vs. Juan Manuel Marquez (March 2008)
After their controversial first fight in 2004, Pacquiao and Marquez met once again, trading counter-punches at each other. Pacquiao took the Super Featherweight title in another controversial split decision.
6. Fight vs. Marco Antonio Barrera (November 2003)
In one of his first big fights, Pacquiao faced Mexican puncher Barrera. After 11 heated rounds, Barrera’s corner threw in the towel and Pacquiao won his third world championship.
7. Fight vs. Miguel Cotto (November 2009)
Puerto Rican boxer Miguel Cotto seemed up to the challenge when he faced Pacquiao, showing grit until the 12th round. But 55 seconds into the last round, Pacquiao threw his killer punch and knocked out Cotto, making history as he became the first boxer to win seven world titles in seven different weight classes.
