From August 1 to 7, 2015, two bloggers each from Japan, Australia, China, and Korea engaged in a mixed-challenge competition that tested their teamwork, energy, and their passion for traveling and experiencing culture. The participants toured the skies of Manila in trapezes, and had a cooking showdown for a feast in Palawan. They flew in the skies of Davao through zip lines and sky cycles, and had a dance-off in the land of Cebu. The six-day challenge ended with a game of football in none other than the white-sanded Boracay.
Aside from the adventures above, the competing teams also took part in the Fan’s Choice bartending challenge, where their voters were Cebu Pacific’s Facebook fans and followers. And to balance out all the energy-driven activities, the bloggers went island-hopping in Boracay, and toured the wonderful Puerto Princesa Underground River.
“It was fantastic to see all the fun and excitement of the Philippines captured through the eyes of the Juanderers,” CEB VP for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog said.
“…you don’t feel tired when you’re having so much fun and making wonderful memories!” Ikuma Nakagawa from the winning Team Japan said. “I’ll never forget the wonderful hospitality of the Philippine people and my time as a CEB Juanderer. The challenges were so much fun, and I can’t wait to come back to [the] Philippines again as Team Japan won!”

Hidekazu Tanaka, the other member of the winning pair, said that “Over the past week I have found the Philippines to be a wonderful place, which is now very close to my heart. The country is full of beautiful sights as well as warm and welcoming people.” Tanaka thanked the other bloggers from the other teams, and the people who supported him and his partner Nakagawa during the challenge.
Team Japan’s Nakagawa and Tanaka, who accumulated the most number of points from all of the challenges in the five destinations, were crowned as the first #CEBjuanderers Challenge winners. They also received an all-expense paid holiday to any Philippine destination. The rewarded holiday is inclusive of flights, two-night hotel accommodation, and USD 300 travel allowance for each of the two.
Bloggers Stefanie Acworth and Jean Carmela of Team Australia, on the other hand, were awarded the “CEBjuanderers Spirited Award”.
“We hope that as more people see what an incredible time they had, they would be also be inspired to create their own adventures and ‘juander’ across the Philippines with Cebu Pacific’s excellent domestic and International network,” Iyog concludes.
#CEBjuanderers Challenge 2015 is co-organized by the Philippine Tourism Promotions Board. Cebu Pacific is the largest airline in the Philippines, with 28 international destinations, six local networks, and several international networks which include Seoul, Busan, Beijing, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Shanghai, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, and Sydney.
