Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and S7 pre-orders available via SMART
Samsung finally announced “The Next Galaxy” with Galaxy S7 Edge and S7 last February 22, 2016 at the Samsung Hall in SM Aura Premier. The Philippine Launch was made simultaneous to the global launch in Barcelona, Spain.
The release of the two latest innovations was coupled with the sneak peek of Samsung Gear VR, which will be compatible with Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and S7, and was also coupled with the sneak peek of the Gear S2 Classic.

Samsung’s Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy S7 have the following specs and features that gadget enthusiasts should keep an eye out for:
IP68 water and dust resistance. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and S7 are enhanced to withstand everyone’s frequent problems and accidents with phones. With an IP68 certification, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and S7 are guaranteed to be cap-less, waterproof, and dustproof. The new dustproof feature ensures its users that the phone will be safe against sand, dust, or soil. The new waterproof feature increases the technology’s durability as it can now withstand being submerged in 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes.
Dual photodiode technology in dual pixel camera. Dual photodiode technology is originally used for DSLR cameras. Samsung Galaxy 7 Edge and S7 stepped up the game by incorporating this technology as one of their features. With these development, pictures taken with Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and S7 resemble those taken by DSLRs. In addition to that, the autofocus feature allows pictures to be crisp and clear pictures. The enhanced F1.7 camera lens allows for good pictures to be captured during low-light conditions. The beauty mode feature is also put together with the new spotlight feature. Coupled with this upgraded storage capacity is an upgraded battery capacity. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and S7 have 3600 mAH battery and 3000 mAH battery, respectively. The wired ultra fast charging and the built-in wireless charging has also been made ultra faster and more convenient than the past Samsung Galaxy series.
Sleeker and more elegant design. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge’s and S7’s designs feature streamlined glass and metal finishes with curves made functionally and perfectly fit for everyone’s grip. Samsung Galaxy S7 has a 5.1 inch Super AMOLED Quad HD display ensuring high-definition experience for its users. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge offers a larger 5.5 dual-edge display as well, taking the S7 series to a whole new level.
Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and S7 also come with functional edge panels. Different panels will appear by swiping a different edge of the screen. Compatibility with Samsung Gear VR. With the ever-expanding Samsung Galaxy Ecosystem, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and S7 users can connect to Samsung Gear VR, the first commercial virtual reality headset. Samsung Gear VR is lightweight and comes with an adjustable head strap to allow the users to get the perfect cushioning of the device on their heads, and also to keep the gadget secured. The Samsung Gear VR will be available at Samsung Experience Stores this February 26, 2016.
Compatibility with Gear S2 Smartwatch. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and S7 can also connect with Gear S2 Smartwatch for more connectivity and convenience.
