LG Electronics at the InnoFest Asia 2018
(Seoul, South Korea) InnoFest Asia 2018 finally comes back to its home country. After its successful launching in South Africa and France, LG Electronics brought its yearly InnoFest roadshow to Asia from April 23 to 25. The event was held at the new LG Science Park in Seoul, South Korea and welcomed more than 250 representatives from LG, their distribution and retail partners, as well as members of the media coming from different regions.
For this year’s event, the theme of InnoFest is “An Invitation to the AI Home That Thinks of You.” LG introduced a wide range of smart appliances equipped with the SmartThinQ, the brand’s signature AI technology as well as high-tech innovations that aim to make people’s daily lives easier and more convenient. Attendees were able to experience the products themselves in a set-up designed to emulate a natural home environment. This set-up includes a living room, a kitchen, and a laundry room which feature a variety of products embedded with AI technology and designed to seamlessly adapt to everyday life.
The kitchen highlighted the latest InstaView Door-in-Door fridge technology, now applied to Multi-Door refrigerators. LG’s InstaView Door-in-Door refrigerators featured a sleek and elegant stainless steel design and came with a glass panel that illuminates the interior. With just two simple knocks, you can conveniently scan the contents of your fridge for faster and easier access to your favorite drinks and snacks. This feature offers an energy-efficient and comfortable way to look the contents of your refrigerator without opening its door. It leads to less cold air from escaping and makes food fresher for longer.
Aiming to transform the kitchen experience even more, the InstaView Door-in-Door refrigerator is also equipped with LG’s SmartThinQ which allows user to remotely control their fridge using their smartphones. This enables them to set the refrigerator’s temperature as well as to diagnose any problems through a connected application. In addition to this, this smart appliance can also provide you with different recipes based on the ingredients found inside your fridge. It relays the instructions to your LG smart oven and automatically adjusts the cooking setting after receiving the recipe.
From the kitchen, attendees move on to the makeshift laundry room. They were introduced to the TWINWash washing machine, a convenient and time-saving appliance that has a main washer and a mini washer, making it possible to wash two loads of laundry simultaneously. The TWINWash washing machine is also equipped with WiFi connectivity, enabling you to easily control and monitor the appliance remotely, track energy use, and download wash cycles.
Meanwhile, in the living room, guests were introduced to the pride and joy of LG’s Home Entertainment division: the newest OLED TV model which is equipped with LG ’s (Alpha) 9 intelligent processor and offers an enhanced picture quality and true-to-life colors from virtually any movie angle. To complete this superior image rendering feature, the OLED TV also supports Dolby Atmos for an immersive audio-visual experience. AI functionality is also embedded in the TV set and you can speak directly into the remote control to enjoy the latest voice assistant technology. LG’s ThinQ AI-enabled televisions also use services based on the Electronic Program Guide to deliver real-time information and locate any channel offerings that you desire. Just simply say “search for this movie’s soundtrack” or “turn off the TV once this program is over” and the appliance will do everything for you.

Other than the latest range of electronics, InnoFest Asia 2018 also featured different zones that showcased LG’s latest range of smart home appliances such as dishwasher, air conditioners, and microwave ovens, their energy-saving inverter technology, and the array of premium televisions including the SUPER UHD models.
