New World Makati Hotel Review
The gift of a romantic getaway in one of Makati’s luxury hotels is guaranteed to woo any Valentine. Hang on, this doesn’t just apply to couples. If not for your partner, do it for yourself. The month of February is arguably the one time a year that it’s socially acceptable to spoil yourself silly. Don’t limit self-appreciation to delivering chocolates and flowers to your workplace. I offer you my favorite solo hotel staycation to assist in your search for the best experience. Here is a glimpse of what you can expect from booking a 5-star weekend at New World Makati Hotel.

Press Club Pool Deck – New World Makati Hotel
Located in the heart of the Philippines’ “it” commercial district, New World Makati Hotel offers an environment of unlimited indulgence. The choice is yours as you are surrounded by premier boutiques, bars and restaurants.
You can decide to satisfy your inner shopaholic or stay indoors and reap all of what New World has to offer.
Deluxe Room- New World Makati

I know no matter how amazing and extravagant a hotel may be, it all boils down to price. In comparison to other overnight stays, New World Makati Hotel is mainly listed as one of best value on many website luxury rankings. Current international guest reviews on Agoda agree it’s worth the price. I greatly enjoyed my stay in their modern deluxe room with king size bed, unwavering Wi-Fi and super plush bathrobe.
Valentine’s Day Promo – New World Makati Hotel

In all weekends of February 2018, including Valentine’s Day, expect a boxed pair of wine vials from WIT and delicious breakfast buffet when you book a Superior (7,500 php), Deluxe, Residence Club Deluxe or One-Bedroom Suite. The best part of it all? Late check-out at 4 p.m for bookings on Fridays and Saturdays because no one likes a rushed romantic getaway. Relax and feel free to stay up all night *wink wink* *nudge nudge*.
Tea Time- New World Makati

In all seriousness, what sets New World Makati apart from other world-class hotels is how innately private it is. It’s regarded as a business hotel; as such, casual guests will find privacy in vacant facilities. Enter a gigantic lobby that doesn’t feel overcrowded during tea time despite Café 1228 being occupied by easygoing business meetings (shout-out to the coolest afternoon tea hostess Ms. Luviska). Bar Rouge is underrated and found empty on a Saturday night making hilarious conversation with bartender Dexter and hostess AJ possible.
By the Bar – Bar Rouge

Honestly, I’d be satisfied with just a cheeky drink at Bar Rouge on Valentine’s Day. Its red wine and mahogany color scheme paired with lounge chairs and a hidden back room makes you feel like a big shot. Ordering a scotch neat would tie into the aesthetic, but allow me to recommend the Mark’s Breakfast and Barbados Bramble that are just right for a flirty occasion.
Spa room before the treatment of a lifetime – Marahai Spa

To quote my late Instagram story, “listen, I’ve been to a lot of spas, but this one is amazing”. If you’re looking for a relaxed spa experience in the Makati area, try New World’s Marahai Spa. I recommend therapist Cherry and the Hilot spa treatment, a full body massage paired with coconut oil applied with native banana leaves. I remember goosebumps from the oil being applied to my back and waking up halfway to flip over, but the remainder of the 1.5-hour treatment was just a feeling of weightlessness and relief. 3,500 PHP and 100% worth it as the benefits of nourished and soft skin lasted weeks. Located on the third floor passed the locker area, it exists as two therapy rooms. Unlike most spa facilities, I didn’t feel pressured to leave immediately after my session as there were no other appointments scheduled. It is truly New World Makati’s best-hidden secret.
Jasmine – New World Makati

Fans of good food (haha who isn’t…)? I urge you to try Jasmine, regarded as one of the best Chinese restaurants in Makati. There’s no over the top plating nor inedible décor; it’s simply divine food served standard. It wasn’t difficult to maneuver the menu as the dishes are self-explanatory. And you know the food’s good when the restaurant is packed full of birthday celebrations and extended family get-togethers.

Manager Ms. Toni, Sir Alwin and kuya Marco recommended the salted egg sole fish fillet, steamed garlic cod fish fillet and Peking duck prepared in front of you and served in 3 ways. I promise they taste ridiculously good, eyes wide open slow chewing happiness. And I guarantee your Valentine will appreciate a perfectly cooked fish and/or duck.
There you have it. My top pick for a solo/couple hotel getaway. Treat yourself with your significant other at New World Makati Hotel. Okay? Okay.
Many thanks to NWMH and Communication Executive Ms.Cam Arcilla for facilitating and enhancing my experience.
