Etihad Airways sponsors celebrity designer Julien MacDonald’s for an exclusive fashion event
Etihad Airways teams up with British celebrity designer Julien Macdonald OBE – and recently hosted a fashion show at the UAE national airline’s state-of-the-art Innovation Training Academy in Abu Dhabi.
The celebrated designer also hosted an intimate VIP after party for the fashion community and Etihad Airways VIP guests.
During the opening night of the New York Fashion Show, the airline brand also took this opportunity to unveil its new promotional fashion film titled, “Runway” which features the all the standard safety instructions in a fashion-forward context. It can be clearly seen that the airline is highlighting its ties to the fashion world.
Julien Macdonald is a famous Welsh fashion designer who has appeared as judge on the television programme, Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model. In 2001, he has been named as the ‘British Fashion Designer of the Year” and was appointed as chief designer at Givenchy. Celebrites who wore her designs includes Madonna, Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez and Gigi Hadid.
This exclusive event hosted by the acclaimed fashion designer and the airline brand was attended by eminent personalities including the renowned stylist, Karl Plewka, fashion and lifestyle media, up-and-coming Emirati and Arab fashion designers, corporate partners, regional social media influencers, and Etihad Airways employees.
The highlight of the event is a catwalk show presenting outfits created by local designers and fashion brands including Endemage, Twisted Roots, Taller Marmo, Noora Hefzi, Kage, Effa, Bambah, Jelena Bin Drai, Baruni, Dima Ayad, Madiyah Al Sharqi, and Sem Sem.
Etihad Airways is a sponsor of 17 annual Fashion Weeks around the world, in partnership with WME | IMG. Last week, Etihad Airways and Julien Macdonald hosted a celebration of fashion at the airline’s state-of-the-art Innovation Training Academy in Abu Dhabi with the designer flying in especially for the event from New York.
