It was the 6th Year for the JFF Cebu Pacific Backpacking Challenge and this time they set another historical record with over 300 activities staged in 25 locations all in a matter of seven days. With Php 40,000.00 in the bag of each team composed of three travel buffs, the adventure took off across great local destinations. All they had is an Oppo camera phone on hand and a Boreas backpack not to mention the captivating Philippine attractions to get going.

OVERJOYED. After seven days of setting off to an adventure of a lifetime, Team Juanton of Davao is named Cebu Pacific’s Juan for Fun 2017 Ultimate Backpackers.

Juanton Team For The Win

Three graduating students from Davao seized the opportunity of showcasing the best of Dumaguete, Siquijor, Cebu and Legazpi City. From Scuba Diving to many other land and water activities, the Juanton Team was hailed as champion getting to go home with a travel pass from Cebu Pacific to local and short-handed international destinations plus pocket money courtesy of GetGo and Union Bank. They’ve earned more than the perfect graduation gifts for themselves at the end of the school year.

Who would have thought that the youngest competitors would bring home the bacon? Gloria Andrea Mendoza (18 years old), Christian Dominic Ang (19 years old) and Chyn Ira Crisostomo (19 years old) also won the Smart Challenge and the Chippy Kada Challenge with minor prizes to cheer them up along the way. All this along with the beautiful memories of local dishes and culture that they have encountered in awesome places visited.

Team Patsado at Number Two

Inspired by the friendship bond, the Patsado Team from Cagayan De Oro finished second fortifying their ties with the enthralling travel experience. The locals of the whitewater rapids took their chances in an adventure outside their equally enchanting homeland. And, the team with Ron, Rene and James are never more determined to discover many other exciting destinations in the country.

Team Barbie at Number Three

Marlou, Adonis and Carl came in third which is not too bad for Team Barbie having explored Puerto Princesa, Siargao and Boracay before having their way to Manila. They must have fallen in love with the experience by the beach having been frequently immersed in sand and water. Sure, they will forever treasure this great adventure together.

TeamPhun and Team Malackai

Two teams shared the fourth place as the Baguio City and Bacolod City contestants buckled up for their travel itineraries. While TeamPhun with Bryan, Alfred and Josh gained popularity for their escapades in Cebu, Davao and Camiguin, Team Malackai with Kahel, Ian and John went off to Bohol, Cebu and Surigao winning the Coaches’ Choice Award. It appears that both teams were captivated by beautiful sceneries of Cebu as one great Visayan pride.

The finalists were greeted by Cebu Pacific Air Corporate Communications Director Charo Logarta-Lagamon who advocated for easy, affordable and accessible Philippine travel experience.
