Australian table grapes are back in the Philippines, showcasing high-quality fruit from one of the best harvests in recent years. The 2024–25 season has yielded exceptional grapes, thanks to favorable conditions of warm sunny days, cool nights, and well-timed rainfall, resulting in increased volumes and a standout eating experience.

Australian Table Grapes Make a Sweet Return to the Philippines
“This season’s grapes are among the finest we’ve ever exported,” said Jeff Scott, CEO of the Australian Table Grape Association (ATGA). “They’re crisp, sweet, and full of flavour—everything Filipino consumers expect from premium Australian fruit.”
“With industry partners like the Australian Table Grapes Association (ATGA), we are proud to continue strengthening Australia’s close ties with the Philippines. We hope these campaigns and investments in market showcase how important the Philippines is as a trusted trade partner of Australia,” said Luisa Rust, Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner of the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) in Manila.

The ATGA is launching an extensive in-store promotional campaign across major Philippine retailers, including The Marketplace, Shopwise, Robinsons Supermarket, S&R, Landers, Metro Supermarket, and Joel’s Place. These activations will feature eye-catching displays, sampling activities, and information about Australian grapes’ taste, origin, and quality.
This year’s offerings include a broader range of grape varieties designed to excite the palate, alongside long-time favorites like Autumn Crisp, known for its firm, giant green berries with a sweet flavor and subtle muscat hint, and Candy Dreams, a seedless black grape with Labrusca-like flavor. New seedless varieties feature unique textures and flavors—from crisp green grapes with honey-like sweetness to juicy black grapes with berry-like undertones, and even varieties boasting floral, muscat-like aromas. These innovations reflect Australia’s commitment to consumer-driven production, catering to Filipino shoppers’ growing interest in premium and distinctive fruit.

“There’s real curiosity in the Philippines for new taste experiences, especially in the fresh produce aisle,” said Jesse White, International Marketing Manager at ATGA. “Australian grapes are meeting that demand with a mix of trusted classics and exciting new varieties that we’re confident will become household favourites.”
In 2023–24, the Philippines ranked fourth among Australia’s global table grape export destinations, receiving over 8,500 tonnes. With a robust supply and growing consumer interest in premium imported fruit, the Australian Table Grape Association (ATGA) anticipates continued growth in this market in the coming year.
