AirAsia To Operate Direct Flights From Cebu To Singapore Next Month, Offers Php 888 Introductory Promo Fares

This news will definitely put a smile on travelers’ faces: AirAsia has recently announced that it will kick start operating direct flights next month from Cebu to Singapore.

Beginning Nov. 25, 2016, the airline will start these flights with introductory promo fares from as low as Php 888. Such promo fares are already up for grabs via the airline’s official website: airasia.com. Travelers have to take note, however, that the promo fares are only made available until Oct. 23, 2016. Travel dates are from Nov. 25, 2016 through March 24, 2017.

“The addition of the Cebu-Singapore route enables us to strengthen our Cebu hub and further connect Cebuanos to our Asean neighbours,” said Captain Dexter Comendador, Philippines AirAsia Chief Executive Officer.

“[W]e are here to connect Cebu to Singapore, Taipei, Korea, Malaysia and onto to AirAsia Group’s massive network of over 120 destinations across Asia, Australia and New Zealand, the Middle East and Africa while providing only the best quality service and products,” he added.

Comendador went on to say that Cebu is becoming the fastest growing air hub outside Metro Manila.

This new route of AirAsia was announced just two days after the company’s executives, headed by CEO Comendador, along with Department of Tourism head for route development Erwin Balane as well as Taiwan Economic Cultural Office director for press division Jerry Cheng-An Chuang, arrived in the Queen City of the South on Oct. 20 to open another route – the Cebu-Taipei route.

Because of this newest destination milestone of the airline in the country, Singapore Tourism Board area director for Philippines Lael Loh is congratulating AirAsia, saying that the opening of the new Cebu-Singapore route will definitely give more opportunities for Filipino travelers “to discover, experience, and enjoy the multitude of offerings in the Lion City.”

Apart from the company’s Taipei and Singapore routes, AirAsia also announced a few days ago that it will boost its flights between Cebu and Kuala Lumpur. Effective Oct. 29, AirAsia’s flights to this destination in Malaysia will be increased to four times, from three times.

It is worth mentioning that the airline also provides direct flight services from Cebu to Incheon (Seoul), South Korea.
