In its bid to bolster its premium product range and to expand its business and corporate clients, low cost airline AirAsia unveils its first Global Ambassador — the Canadian composer and record producer, David Foster.

The announcement was made on Wednesday, August 12, in a special unveiling event in Majestic Hotel in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, organized by the airline company.
“David is an old friend and we’ve created many hits together over the years. David is a legend and I’m looking forward to creating many more hits through this collaboration, especially on our Premium offerings,” Tony Fernandes, the Group Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia, told the press. “Premium Flex is a one-of-a-kind product which offers travellers flexibility and value-for-money with complimentary 20kg baggage, in-flight meal of their choice, up to 2 times flight changes with seat selection, priority baggage, check-in as well as boarding.”
He added that the partnership with the 16-time Grammy award winner for their Premium Flex and their award-winning Premium Flatbed to start “will bolster both products to another level, creating a new market for us as we continue to evolve from being just a low-cost carrier to a true value-carrier with the best product proposition.”

Through the partnership, guests of Air Asia will soon expect launching of various engagement activities, which will include the opportunity to meet Foster at one of his concerts.
“Hitman” Foster said in the press conference that he was impressed by the airline’s evolution, saying that no aircraft in its fleet older than 10 years.
Foster also revealed in the event that he is a pilot and a self-proclaimed “aviation freak.”
“I love aviation and I love music as do Tony so I think it’s a good fit,” he said. “I am also an airplane freak. I know the names of every single airplane, private or commercial, that is flying today.”
Apart from being a world-renowned musician, songwriter, arranger, producer and recording artist, Foster was also behind the discovery and popularity of the following artists in the music industry: Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez, The Corrs, Toni Braxton, Christina Aguilera. He also mentored Charice Pempengco.
AirAsia is deemed as the world’s best low cost airline for seven consecutive years.
