Day’s Hotel Iloilo Review

Hotel Review: Day’s Hotel Iloilo

It was early morning when we arrived at Iloilo International Airport. Together with Christian and Gael, we decided to take the passenger Van to reach the city since it was so costly to rent a cab from the airport.

All of us were booked at Day’s Hotel Iloilo, and since our contact was able to arrange for an early check-in, we went straight to Day’s Hotel to check out our rooms, leave our things, and freshen up a bit.

After almost an hour, we had breakfast at Netong’s Original Lapaz Batchoy in La Paz Supermarket. Visiting this humble La Paz Batchoy place has always been part of my itinerary whenever I visit Iloilo.

Our next stop was at Madge Cafe – a coffee shop inside the public market. Madge Cafe is the oldest Cafeteria in Panay, and over the years, this coffee shop has become one of the favorite meeting places of Ilonggos.

It was almost 11am when we left La Paz Market and returned to Day’s Hotel to meet fellow bloggers Jorry, Eric, and Antoine Greg. For lunch, Day’s Hotel invited us to taste their famous Lunch Buffet at The Promenade. The buffet table has 7 dishes: fish, pork, beef, and vegetables.

They also have pasta and Mongolian Barbeque station for people who want lighter meals. What impressed me was their desserts section. They have flavored Jelly, Leche Flan, various cakes, fruit salad, and Halo-halo.

The Room

It was my first time staying at the hotel, and I admire Day’s Hotels’ consistency. All the rooms I stayed in other Day’s Hotel branches are clean and have the most comfortable pillows and beds. Each room has amenities like Cable TV, land phone, mini bar, complimentary WiFi access, and a safety deposit box.

Location

The hotel is conveniently located in the city center, just a few steps from the newly restored old Capitol Building. Atrium Shopping Mall and a supermarket are located on the hotel’s lower ground, giving guests easy access to food and personal necessities.

We stayed overnight in Iloilo for our Antique Heritage Tour, organized by Katahum Tours, headed by Ford Nicson Calawag, the Province of Antique, and the Department of Tourism, headed by Regional Director Atty. Helen Catalbas.
