The town is also known as the “Little Hong Kong of the South” for its hilly terrain and is popular with tourists for its iconic inclined tricycle ride. Whether you are a local or foreign traveler, one of the top things to do in Pagadian City recommended to the tourist is riding the iconic inclined tricycles.

Although tricycles can be found throughout the Philippines, Pagadian’s inclined tricycle is one of a kind. It is usually designed inclined around 25 to 40-degree angles to let the tricycles easily climb up the city’s mountainous terrain.

Situated in the town of Labangan just along the highway is the beautiful Manga Falls. The two-tier waterfall cascade is only 7 kilometers away from the city center, perfect for summer adventure.

Manga falls surrounding areas are filled with beautiful rock formations, massive trees, the luscious green forest where birds and monkeys inhabit.

3. Dao Dao Island

A small island surrounded by clear turquoise water, just 10 to 15 minutes away from the city, is Dao Dao Island’s famous tourist attraction. The island is rocky and has stunning coral reefs famous for sailing and diving.

Dao Dao Island is situated at Ylllana Bay, consisting of two islands known as Dao Dao Dako and a smaller island Dao Dao Gamay.

4. Rotonda Park, Pajares Avenue

Pagadian City is called the “Little Hong Kong of the South” for its scenic view at Rotonda Park, Pajares Avenue.

If you are looking for a place to relax or take pictures for your Instagram, the Rotonda is the spot to go. Situated at the elevated part, the view at Rotonda features the hilly town and Yllana Bay.

5. Mount Palpalan

For thrill seeker tourists, head to the famous Mount Palpalan by hiking, cycling, or riding a tricycle. At the peak of Mount Palpalan, you can see communication towers. Situated at 700 feet above sea level, Mount Palpalan offers a picturesque view of downtown Pagadian City and the mesmerizing waters of Yllana Bay.

A sandbar that emerges only during low tide season around 9 am to 1 pm is the Puting Balas Sandbar. If you are looking for a place to get away from the city and get those tan lines, it is the perfect place to go. Putting Balas Sandbar is a bare strip of white sand land located in the middle of the sea famous to tourists visiting Pagadian City.

7. Agri Tourism and Heritage Complex

Popular to tourists visiting in December is the Agri Tourism and Heritage Complex. It showcases Zamboanga’s agriculture and heritage through farm tours, stay-in, and fresh harvest produce. During December, all the towns in Zamboanga del Sur gather to showcase their very own products.

8. Kendis Cave

If you are up for a more adventurous trip, try spelunking at the Kendis Cave. Situated in Brgy Dagatan, the limestone tunnel cave is only 15 km away from Pagadian City and is one of the town’s must-see caves.

Kendis Cave was previously reachable only through horseback riding but also accessible by motorists.

9. Pulacan Falls

Also situated in the town of Labangan, just beside the highway, is the enchanting gem of nature, the Pulacan Falls. Only 12 km away from Pagadian City, the artistic work of several terraces and pools gives a dramatic cascade to the streaming water. Due to its tranquil environment, it has become a campsite for Jamboree events.

10. Greenhouse Fishing Station and Restaurant

A must-visit for every tourist coming to Pagadian City is the Greenhouse Fishing Station and Restaurant. The restaurant is located at the center of the vast fishpond, where you can fill your tummies with freshly caught Pagadian seafood.

The restaurant’s specialty includes grilled tilapia, calamares, and clamshells.
