Getting There
From Mactan Cebu International Airport, you can hail a white taxi cab and tell the driver to take you to Diamond Suites located at no. 8 Apitong corner Escario Street and pay about PHP250 for an hour drive. The hotel is situated on a side street and is relatively close to Quest Hotel and Ayala PUV Terminal.
Arrival
Hopping off from a 62B jeepney for Talamban outside Ayala PUV Terminal, I crossed towards the side street going to the hotel. Entering the lobby, I was immediately entertained. On my right was the business center with desktop computers for use beside a blue green sofa on a gray carpet with two tree paintings on the walls. On my left was the open bar and restaurant where they serve their breakfast and dinner buffet. After the standard check-in procedure, I went to use the elevator which was near the banquet and function halls for seminars and events. With the elevator doors opening, you’ll immediately see a black and white wall resembling an optical illusion.
Room and amenities
Arriving at my standard room 227 with a promo rate of PHP2,900 good for two persons, you’ll notice that it is fully-equipped with conveniences not found in other mid-tier hotels. It has complete bathroom amenities, sensor doorlock system, gooseneck reading lights, a private workspace, safety deposit box and an LCD Cable TV to name a few. Its plush twin beds and memory pillows are also perfect for a sound sleep. Looking out the window, however, you only have a view of another building and the side street. Better choose a higher floor if you like a better view.
Hotel Facilities
The hotel has 103 standard, deluxe and suite rooms and 26 condominium units. It also has a swimming pool and a mini gym at the topmost floor which is not yet functional for the time being. It also has banquet and meeting facilities and a business center for last minute paperwork demands. It also has an all-day dining restaurant and an open bar slash coffee lounge that serve cocktails at PHP128 per glass.
Restaurant
Grain Restaurant offers Filipino and International Cuisine. A typical meal for two in their ala carte menu would cost around PHP600. Their ala carte breakfast costs PHP208 per person. They also serve dinner buffets every Friday and Saturday at PHP 408 per person. I got to try their International Feastival buffet, composed of Italian and many more dishes from different parts of the world. My favorite dishes include Osso Buco, boneless Lechon and the well-presented antipasti cold cuts. With the wide array of dishes to choose from, you’ll surely get value for your money.
