Everyone is talking about The Lion King Musical, in fact my friends in Singapore kept on convincing me to visit SG last month just to watch the show with the rest of the gang. Surprisingly, I was lucky to have been invited by Singapore Tourism Board along with Jan Shim and Jonel Uy to experience the new sights and sounds of Singapore and YES, it includes free passes to the Lion King Musical.
The Lion King Musical Singapore
We spent our first day touring around Marina Bay Sands and one of the highlights of our tour is a night with the Lion King. It’s not just meeting the Lion King himself, its all about watching one of the worlds most watched musical.
Lion King in Marina Bay Sands
The Lion King is the story of Simba, a lion cub who is exiled when his father is murdered by his treacherous brother Scar. Escaping into the jungle, Simba becomes friends with other creatures and eventually returns to claim his throne. Like Richard III, this is a story of power, corruption, greed, redemption, and something else. Friendship. There is a good reason this musical has won critical acclaim, the story has the ability to touch and move both the young and the old. The Lion King offers something for everyone.
The Marina Bay Sands has been offering some great promotional packages to those who want to enjoy both the show and the resort which allows visitors to save as much as 15% while they take in the amazing colors, gorgeous special effects, and wonderful music of this worldwide phenomenon. More than 50 million people have seen The Lion King so far and not many of them have been disappointed.

Add to that the amazing Sands Skypark Pool, the stunning observation deck, and the wonders of Singapore and you have some very compelling reasons to visit. As if The Lion King weren’t enough.

So, what is The Lion King? It’s one of the great success stories of the musical theatre world. With over 70 international theatre awards, you can be assured that this is like nothing you have ever watched.
Hear the evocative beats of the Serengeti and enjoy the amazing music of Elton John and Tim Rice while you see the epic journey of Simba as he becomes The Lion King. This is a classic story of power, betrayal, friendship, and love. It plays until May 31 at the Marina Bay Sands Theatre. Shows are Tuesday through Sunday at 8PM with special matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 2 PM. Tickets start at $65 and go up. Given the chance, will I go back to watch it again? Definitely YES!!
