Spartan Race Southeast Asian (SEA) Regional Series 2019 kicks off in Lima Park, Batangas

Lima Park, Malvar, Batangas — Few weeks ago, Team out of Town was invited by Lima Park Hotel, an official partner of SPARTAN PH to participate in the race. Partaking in this kind of adrenalin pumping activity is not that easy especially if you are not active in sports and having said that, we just decided to just cover the event and roam around the vicinity to watch each the participants as they complete each task.

More than 4,000 local and international racers participated in the recent Spartan SEA Regional Series with the LIMA Beast/Sprint 2019 recently held at the Lima Technology Center in Lipa-Malvar Batangas.

Being the first out of three Southeast Asian series, LIMA Beast/Sprint is the stepping stone for the competitive Spartans to qualify for the Asia Pacific Championships on August 25 and World Championships on September 28-29 this year.

This first leg of the SEA Regional Series highlighted three categories: the Hurricane Hear, the Spartan Sprint, and the Spartan Beast.

The Hurricane Heat is a unique event, traversing on and off the Spartan Race Course. Participants will be assigned a team upon arrival and will be expected to work together to complete any and all challenges set before them, as a team. You can’t finish alone.

The Spartan Sprint, perfect for athletes of all levels—from Spartan first-timers to seasoned racers. The 6+km Sprint may be the shortest distance but it packs more than 20 Signature Spartan Obstacles. This is the only race in the event that will have the elite and age group categories.

Last is the Spartan Beast, the most difficult of the three. The Beast is a test of endurance, perseverance, grit, and mind. The 21-km Beast packs more than 30 Signature Spartan Obstacles. This is the final hurdle to the Spartan TRIFECTA glory.
