South Korea announces 3 ways to go to Korea visa-free
Just recently, the Korean Embassy in the Philippines has announced three ways on how people can enter South Korea visa-free.
Who are eligible?
You are eligible to avail of the visa-free entry to South Korea if you are one of the following, according to the website of the embassy:
- If you are a foreign transfer passenger
- If you are a tourist in transit to third countries
- If you are visiting Jeju Island.
For the category that involves a foreign transfer passenger, the embassy notes that eligible passengers are those tourists that transfer via the Incheon Airport. On top of that, they should be taking part in the Transit Tourism Program on their way to their country of nationality or to a third country.
For the next category, in the meantime, eligible tourists should come from other countries except for 24 nations that were excluded on their list. These excluded countries that were listed include:
- Sri Lanka
- Republic of Kosovo.
For the said category, here are some of the conditions that have to be followed for you to be eligible:
- You have to have no record of a criminal offense, including overstaying in the countries as mentioned earlier; and
- You should have a confirmed onward flight ticket for departure for 30 days.
If you are, however, a passport holder of New Zealand, Australia, the United States, and Canada, then you are eligible for this category.
For the last category – tourists that are going to visit Jeju island – once again, the country is not allowing citizens that come from 24 countries that are mentioned above.
There you have it: some ways on how you can enter South Korea visa-free. Should you wish to know more information regarding the matter, then you may head on over to the website of the embassy at overseas.mofa.go.kr/.
