Are you planning to witness Sinulog Festival 2012 but not sure when to visit Cebu for the main event schedules. Sinulog organizers are expecting thousands of tourists starting next week to witness the fluvial procession and the foot procession of the image of the Sto. Nino on Jan. 14 and the grand Sinulog 2012 parade the following day.
Sinulog Festival 2012 Schedule
Sinulog is an annual festival in Cebu City and considered as the one of the grandest and most colorful festival in the Philippines. The said festival commemorates the Cebuano people’s pagan origin, and their acceptance of Roman Catholicism.

This year, 12 out-of-town contingents form Visayas and Mindanao will participate the parade and compete for the P1-million grand prize for the Sinulog-based and free interpretation categories and the Sinulog 2012 street-dancing competition.

Among this years contingents in Sinulog Festival are Tangub City and Placer in Masbate, the defending champions in the Sinulog-based and free interpretation categories, respectively.
Lanao del Norte, Zamboanga Sibugay, Liloy in Zamboaga del Norte, Kidapawan in Cotabato, Alang-Alang in Leyte, Dulag in Leyte, Tanaway in Leyte, Dumaguete City and Sta.Catalina in Negros Oriental will also join the Sinulog.
At the end of the Sinulog Festival parade, everyone is invited to go to the Cebu City Sports Center grandstand for the grand finale and the Sinulog 2012 fireworks display.
