Essential Travel Information for Puerto Galera 2021

This year, we’ve got a few long weekends to spare–so why not use this short break to unwind and enjoy a work-free staycation? If you’re a leisure traveler or a returning Puerto Galera resident and would love to come home for a few days, here’s your complete guide to traveling to this coastal town under the new normal.

FOR RETURNING PUERTO GALERA RESIDENTS

  • For travelers without a valid ID: secure an Acceptance Certificate from your barangay in Puerto Galera and send it to MDRRMO Puerto Galera’s messenger. You may call the hotline 0917-146-9446 (Globe) or 0951-870-6644 (Smart) for more information.
  • For children without a valid ID: birth certificates are accepted.

Note: The Health Declaration Form link may only be accessed from 7 AM to 4 PM daily.

  • A Travel Confirmation Pass will be sent via text message to confirm your travel request.

TRAVELING FROM BATANGAS PORT

  • Show your generated QR Code created from the StaySafe PH app at the entrance gate, then proceed to the ticketing booth.
  • Show your Travel Confirmation Pass to the ticketing staff to buy a boat ticket.
  • You may now proceed to the boarding gate.

TRAVELING FROM BALATERO PORT

  • Proceed to the Health Assessment booth at the Balatero Port.
  • Once cleared, register for the Resident Identification Card at the Help Desk. If your LGU issued a resident QR code, you may now proceed.

Note: Quarantine is not required once cleared by the Health Office.

TRAVELING FROM CALAPAN PORT

  • Download the Traze – Contact Tracing app on Google Play or the App Store. You’ll need to show this before buying a ticket at the Calapan Port.
  • Upon arrival, proceed to the provincial DRRMO lane and show the confirmation text message sent by MDRRMO Puerto Galera.

GOING TO PUERTO GALERA VIA VILLAFLOR BORDER

  • Personnel will be conducting a Health Assessment upon your arrival at the Villaflor Border.
  • Once cleared, register for the Resident Identification Card at the Help Desk. If your LGU issued a resident QR code, you may now proceed.

Note: Quarantine is not required once cleared by the Health Office.

For Puerto Galera residents traveling to other parts of Mindoro, travel documents are not required. However, upon return to Puerto Galera via the Villaflor border, you’ll need to show your resident QR Code. Register for a QR code at the Planning Office or at the Villaflor border itself, terminals, markets, and other common places.

Note: Registering for a QR code is FREE of charge.

FOR NON-RESIDENTS OF PUERTO GALERA / LEISURE TRAVELERS

As of March 4, 2021, travelers headed for Puerto Galera no longer need to present RT-PCR tests for a nasopharyngeal swab or travel authority passes.

See updated entry protocols below:

  • Fill out the Health Declaration Form.
  • Proceed to the Travel Management Desk for health and exposure assessment and QR Code issuance.
  • Register to the Puerto Galera Tourist Registration Application and provide the information and requirements needed.

Additional Notes:

  • Travelers 15 years old and below are required to travel with their parent/s or guardian.
  • A confirmed accommodation booking with establishments with a Certificate of Authority to operate is required.
  • An Environmental Fee of P120 is required.
  • Travelers exhibiting symptoms upon arrival shall not be allowed to enter.
