Sooo Pinoy Food Tour Day 2 in Davao City
Our second day of Sooo Pinoy Davao Food Tour started early and for our first stop, we visited Probinsya Restaurant for breakfast. For the unfamiliar, Sooo Pinoy’s purpose is to feed every Pinoy’s love for Filipino food by providing information about the most popular Pinoy national and regional dishes and helping diners identify the top Filipino restaurants in the country. This project is spearheaded by Unilever Food Solutions, the food service arm of Unilever Philippines.
Lechon Kawali and Laing
Balbacua Soup
The Breakfast Buffet spread was impressive, It reminded me of a Saturday market in our province where all types kakanin (rice cakes) are for sale in huge Bilao. I always make sure to join my Grandma on her Saturday “Mercado” stops just to make sure I have kakanin when I get home.
Kare-Kare
Palitaw and Sapin Sapin
As a kid, I grew up drinking hot tsokolate paired with my favorite suman for breakfast. Aside from Suman, they also have Puto, Kutsinta, Pichie-Pichie, Puto Bumbong and Palitaw in their breakfast buffet Menu.
Puto Bumbong
Probinsya offers an extensive choices of food from different provinces such as kare-kare, balbacua, Laing and Dinuguan. Make sure to tryout their Lechon Kawali with Laing… I just love the combination.
Suman and Puto
Breakfast Buffet is available for only P165 exclusive of drinks. Bottomless fruit juice is available at P35 and P45 for Bottomless Sikwati or Hot Chocolate.
The Sooo Pinoy campaign is launched by Unilever Food Solutions to help promote Filipino pride by spreading the love for Filipino cuisine. Like the Sooo Pinoy Facebook page at www.facebook.com/SoooPinoy or follow @SoooPinoy on Twitter.
