Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival 2014 Schedule of Activities

Tacloban City is now prepared for this years Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival 2014 celebration. This year, Pintados Festival will be on its 27th year celebration while the Kasadyaan Festival of Festivals is on its 18th year.

The Pintados Festival is a cultural-religious celebration in Tacloban City based on the body-painting traditions of the ancient tattooed “pintados” warriors. The people of Tacloban City formed the Pintados Foundation, Inc. in 1986 to organize the yearly Pintados Festival in honor of Sr. Santo Niño.

Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival 2014 Schedule of Activities

The festival is usually celebrated days before the Tacloban City fiesta every June 30. The Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival 2014 will be on June 28 while the City Fiesta will be on June 30.

Last year, Buyogan Festival of Abuyog Leyte emerged as the grand prize winner in the Kasadyaan Festival Street Dance Competition. Heres the complete list of winners:

Kasadyaan Festival 2013 Winners

  • First Place: Buyogan Festival, Ambuyog, Leyte
  • Second Place: Lingganay Festival, Alangalang, Leyte
  • Third Place: Viajedores Festival, La Paz, Leyte

Pintados Festival 2013 Winners

  • First Place: Tribu Bungkaras, Barangay San Roque, Tolosa, Leyte
  • Second Place: Tribu Kasiruman, Barangay San Jose, Tacloban City
  • Third Place: Tribu Manangguite, Barangay Sagkahan, Tacloban City

In this years Kasadyaan Festival, six festivals from different provinces already confirmed participation in the street dancing competition on June 28 at the Leyte Sports Development Center. These include festivals from Iloilo, Cebu, Surigao del Sur, Samar and the Buyogan Festival of Abuyog Leyte.

The festival also include activities like the agri-aqua trade fair at the RTR Plaza, boxing, paddle banca race and triathlon competition.
